Differing Bridesmaid Colors

Differing Bridesmaid Colors

I was hoping to get sort of temperature on this.

At my best buddy Josh's wedding, his wife had all of her bridesmaids in floor length chiffon gowns. They were all a variation of pale pink beige or champagne, and there were 5 altogether. I thought it was just gorgeous. They weren't even exactly the same cut but it just looked amazing.

One of my bridesmaids said that she thinks everyone should be the same color except for the MOH. Her regret is that when I was HER MOH that she didn't have me in a different dress. She also thought maybe I should do black so everyone could find a dress in a smaller budget. In fairness, I wore peacock blue for her wedding, in satin...in August. ::Chuckle::But it's a wedding on Halloween, and black just seems too gothic in my opinion.

While I understand it's the norm, for all the girls to be uniform save for the MOH, I'm having a fall wedding, and I thought deep apple red, plum purple and espresso brown would be the way to go. They look amazing together. I'm thinking I'm going to have them all get the jersey knit convertible dresses, and they can pick one of those three colors, and then basically make any silhouette they want.

Am I crazy? I'm just testing the waters here. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Is this just an insane idea?

I wouldn't do it personally. but that's only because We.have agreed on teal dresses. fh asked me one day to do green bc it's was good late mother's favorite color ( I HATE green) our favorite color is blue so we agreed to meet in the middle with teal!

shades of blue would b so do pretty so I would have def considered that but shades of teal turn into green.... I. think it would look good on Done colors. like basic colors like blue, pink, even Gray to black if u really wanted.I don't think it will look bad if it's on the right color.

I definitely think it could look really nice. However, I think that you have to have more uniformity than what you are thinking. I think it worked so well at your friends wedding since their dresses were in the same color family. Having three different color families and different silhouettes may be a little too random. I’m stealing this from Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids but you don’t want your girls to look like they just picked a dress themselves and showed up. I definitely like the idea of different silhouettes (even though I’m not doing it) but I would chose one color and have that color varied throughout the dresses.

I would go for it! I was going to have my BM's in two different colors and my MOH in a third color but my MOH wanted the same color just a different dress so I let her decide. I definitely think it can be done and will look awesome! Just make sure you see all the colors together first to be sure you like them!

I did makeup for a bride once who had all her girls in different neutral tones- pale pink, pale green, champagne... it was GORGEOUS!!! If I had a full bridal party, instead of just a moh, I wouldve done the same thing!!!!
