Digital cameras owners - question

What kind of batteries do you use for our camera? I've tried lithium and just plain AA batteries and they don't last very long... just a few hours. We are going on vacation and I don't want to lug a billion batteries with me or am I doing something wrong. Thanks

Mine uses regular AA batteries - what about getting rechargeable batteries - that way you can charge them in the evening...

we bought rechargeable batteries. the charger isn't very big either. you can try that so you aren't lugging lots of batteries around!

I use regular batteries b/c I like that i can buy them wherever i go.

If you want to conserve on batteries, shut your LCD monitor off. That is what drains it the most.

Also, dont use your flash as much. You photos will be better without and you will save on batteries.

I use lithium too. We had to buy (an overpriced!) car-charger in San Francisco because the batteries were running low but otherwise, haven't had any problems with them. Have had the camera for about 2 1/2 years?

get rechargable batteries. We have a specific digital camera battery- it does not take regular batteries. We buy them on eBay and they are much cheaper that way.

I use rechargeable ones too. They're nickel metal hydride. They last about 2 days and takes about an hour to charge up. Way cheaper than buying them over and over again and they last longer.

I have no idea...all I know is that it's a SONY and I use that power charger that comes with it.

These are NiMH by Kodak you get 4 batteries and the charger for $36.00
I have a pair from Sony and a pair from Kodak.
my camera takes 2 batteries so I always have one pair charging up...

We have the same thing as susans except we our camera takes 4 batteries so we have an extra set which you can get without the charger and it works great.

Re: Digital cameras owners - question

The re-chargeable AA are the best. We lost our charger and the thing eats through the regular batteries. We can't keep them stored in the camera or they will be dead the next time we use them

There is another option: an auxilary power pack. It's small, like the size of a beeper and you attach the power pack to your belt or wherever you want. It does have a wire attached to the camera but if you are putting your camera away temporarily, like if you are sightseeing, you can unplug it from the camera and leave the pack on your belt. Or if you want to hand it to someone else to take a pic, you can unplug it and I think that it can run off the regular batteries for the duration of time it is unplugged from the pack. Like if you want someone to take you & Dh's pic, you dont want to have to unplug it, attach it to them etc. They have Lithium ion and NiMh versions and I'd guess they last 4-5 hours or so. My brother has one and I think it's a Maha Powerbank or something like that. I don't know if my info is outdated but...cant you recharge lithium ion power anytime, like even if it is only half used up you can still charge it and nickel you have to let it get totally wear down and then you recharge? That part I'm not sure about but if I'm right, you're better off with a lithium ion powerpack. Also, I know you can recharge it in the electrical outlet or car cigrette lighter.

I dont know if this suits your needs. Im still a (lazy) slave to the regular batteries with mine but I know my brother loves it.
