Digital Photography??

Digital Photography??

I was wondering if any of you have looked into or booked a digital photographer. I know you get a lot more for your money with digital, but others have told me film is the way to go. Any thoughts?

We booked digital because you get a lot more pictures for your money and you get more of those candid, relaxed shots that you don't always get with film. You also don't have to wait for someone to change the roll of film

I think digital is better because you get a lot of relaxed shots and unexpected shots that you don't get with film. Every picture with film has to be carefully selected and placed, digital you take as many as you want and then chose what you want. I've seen the end result and it is definitely worth it that why we booked with Twelfth Night Photography, they are really good.

all the photogrpahers we met with explained that they resisted switching from film to digital, but now, digital is just as good- if yoou are using a good camera. And you can get more pics as others have said. But when you meet, and if they offer both, ask which are which and see what you like better and if you can even tell a difference.

HTH. :)

I prefer Digital b/c your photographer can see if he/she got the shot at that moment. Film is more of a guessing game.

most photographers today are digital...check out my epics (album) You can do really cool things to alter them.

We are actual doing a combination of both ....

The traditional posed portraits will be film, but the rest of the day will be captured with digital.

Digital all the way. Photographers who work with film are going to have your film processed digitally anyway. My photographer explained to me that there is a benefit in seeing the shot on his screen right away. I have digital files of my wedding pics and they were not files that had to be converted from film. Also, you will want to share your pictures by e-mail and on LIW. I don't understand having to scan them to do that.

My personal preference is digital for photography and videography. In my opinion, it gives them the most flexibility because they can take a crazy amount of shots in a short time and then filter through them when they have some down time during the wedding. In addition, you can be sure that you get all the shots you want because during your wedding you can ask them whether they got a certain pose/picture and they can review what they took rather than having to wait until after they develop the film.

As for videography (I know you didn't ask about it, but I thought I'd include it anyway)...the videographer we visited last weekend said it's waaay more expensive, plus they can replicate the look of film with editing software so there's no real advantage to film...
