Digital vs. Traditional Photos

So I started looking around for photographers but I noticed there is a difference in price for digital and traditional. Basically you get a digital photo album or a cd, so what is the difference. I think I have this idea of like my digital camera and having it online or something.

Let me know. Thanks!!

Re: Digital vs. Traditional Photos

are you talking about albums or digital photography vs film photography?

most photographers shoot digital these days, though some will add in black and white film.

there's a big difference in album types. Digital albums tend to be more like yearbooks in terms of pictures being printed right onto the pages, which are sometimes described as 'full bleed' pages. Traditional albums are usually matted photographs in thick pages. The photos can be embedded within the page under a matte, or they could be 'flush mounted' meaning it's mounted on top of the page with just a liner on it.

I didn't really think people did traditional photography for weddings much anymore...

digital is great because it's very versatile (any photo can be done in color, black and white, or sepia, and some photographers will take a couple of your best photos and enhance them in photo shop or do effects on them, etc). The albums for digital, as mentioned above, are a different style (which I prefer, personally). also, because the photographer isn't paying for film, I found that many give you a lot more pictures - I got 1100 pics at my wedding, and we were only promised about 800 or so. There's not that feeling of 'you get X number of film rolls and then we're out'

also, with digital, you get all your pics on a disk, and some places even post them online for you to access pretty quickly after your wedding.

I love traditional photography, but for a wedding I think digital is a lot more versatile.
