How much are you looking to spend? I have a cannon Elph. I love it. I got it like 2 years ago and I think it was around 300.00
I just bought one for DH for his bday. It is a Canon Powershot A300 and I got it on amazon for $99. I looked for it all over online and I guess they were having a special os something on it. In stores it goes for $200 or so. It is brand new too, not refurbished. I found out from a friend of mine that they have that camera and love it after I bought it, so it should be a good camera for him to play with for alittle bit.
Check out the HP digi cameras too - I rememer that was the first one I bought years ago, and it was under $100! They have some really nice ones now, and they're extremely affordable.
I have to second the Canon Elph. I have the S230 and it is terrific! I bought it about 2 years ago. I am a huge researcher and the Canon got great reviews and it didn't cost as much as some of the others.
