My wedding falls on memorial day weekend and I work in a finance field where we have to close as many jobs as possible in order to view revenue for the month.
Well I need to take off the Friday which happens to be the 'end of month'. There are 2 other girls working with me and they said the boss maY not take kindly to me taking off..*** but its the day before and I am sure it will be hectic. What would you do..take off or work andpray all goes well?
BTW I am planning on leaving this job at the end of summer.

I would let him know ASAP, and since you're leaving there soon I wouldn't even worry about it.

Re: Dilema
I know what y ou mean about taking time off at the end of the month. Its hard for me to get time off. Its only one day and they know that you're getting married. I would ask for the day and see what they say. I'm quite sure that they could function if one person won't be there.

i would also tell them you have to take off and they will have to understand. i wasnt going to take off either the end before because i felt bad that i was leaving for 2 weeks and was leaving so much work but im so glad that i did because i needed that last day to get lil things done and to just unwind.

No doubt about it, Take the day even two days off. I am in the same predicament but I am taking two days. I figure all the time and planning that went into this wedding I am not going to run around like a manic the days before. Savor the moments!

Absolutely take the day off. They'll survive! It isn't like you are taking off to host a BBQ, this is your WEDDING!! If they can't understand, let it be their problem, not yours! Take off, have fun and don't give it another thought. Congratulations!

Re: Dilema
i work in a field where the last day of the month is the most important, so i see where you are coming from. i would take off the day before, but give your boss/supervisor ample notice. if 2 girls have to pick up extra work for one day, i can't imagine its going to be a big deal for them.

I would say take off, just let them know in advance. It's you WEDDING. They should understand. If not, be thankful you're leaving
