Re: Dilemma!!!
you can have as many as you want, I have 6 guys and 4 girls, i will have some girls walk with 2 guys. My MOH also did this at hers. It was different. You can also have all the guys walk in single file, and girls walk in single file then coming out put 1 girl with 2 guys. As for dancing at the reception, you can have one of the groomsmen dance with anyone-plan it ahead.

Re: Dilemma!!!
no u can have as many as you want in your bridal party, there are no limits. unless deep down you just don't want him in there. some girls have 8 bridesmaids etc.

Re: Dilemma!!!
My FH wanted to add someone to the wedding, but he ended up asking him to do a reading at the church. Good luck!

Re: Dilemma!!!
you should consider a reading. it's a wonderful token and includes him without the full commitment

Re: Dilemma!!!
I wouldnt worry about what other people think...it is your day and your decision. Its not like youre having 9 guys and 2 girls. One extra guy wouldnt look funny in my opinion. I think if you both want him in, you should have him.

Re: Dilemma!!!
I'm only having 120 at my wedding - I have a maid-of-honor and 7 bridesmaids, a best man and 7 groomsman. Recently my brother started dating a girl seriously, so I asked her to be a bridesmaid. So I have an uneven number- and around 20% of the people at the wedding will be in the bridal party!!

Re: Dilemma!!!
My wedding is about 100/120 people --> we're having 2 BM, 1 MOH with 1 BM and 5 GM... 2 guys for every girl
Basically, it came down to this --> I wouldn't disrespect my 3 best friends in the world by picking some random chicks to fill out my bridal party --> and I aslso wouldn't want my FI to have to choose which of his closest friends he wanted to stand up with him. It's just my opinion, but I feel VERY strongly that 'that's just the way it's done'/ 'it'll look pretty in pictures' / tradition is a lot less important that the meaning and sentimate attached to things like choosing a wedding party. I don't want to look back at my wedding pictures to find that we no longer keep in touch with half of our wedding party --> which is a situation many of my friends have found themselves in.
My FH is 'great' friends with his entire guest list...I do feel bad when we have some good friends over...I never want to talk about wedding stuff...b/c they are not part of the BP...its a fact of life...what can you do...they'll be at your wedding and share the fun with you...
I have a really great friend from my last job...we backpacked through Europe together...so we are pretty close...but we both left our jobs and when both of our weddings came along...we both understood that we each would be guests...but she sat me at her table of bridesmaids and I kept telling FH how honored I was that she sat me there...and of course she will be sat with 2 of my BMs...
