Dilemma

Dilemma

Ok, so we are planning our wedding for Friday night Nov 28 and we will be having our ceremony at the same place as the reception. Here is the problem... I have always dreamed of having outdoor pics, however by the time the ceremony is over, it will be dark!!
Should I just give in and see my FH before the wedding to take pics then?

Re: Dilemma

If you really want those pictures that may be your only option. We both refused to see each other before hand but it worked out that way. I have been told, and if you ask around the site, that seeing each other before doesnt really affect that feeling when you walk down the aisle. You set up a special 'first seeing' so that its special but you can still have the pictures you would like

I think that is the only option...my friend saw her fh before the wedding but the photographer made sure to take a picture of FH seeing her for the first time.

That sounds like it must have been a nice picture!!!! Yes I agree I love outdoor wedding pictures as well. I have heard of couples taking their pictures the next day, but in my opinion it is too much work to look the same two days in a row!

i think that may be your only option...if you want pics at the VENUE in the daytime.. (otherwise I would suggest DAY AFTER photos somewhere else) but I would definitely set it up with the photographer that you want a pic of when he sees you for the FIRST TIME

Thanks for your suggestions ladies!! I think we will just have to see eachother before. I will DEFINITLY tell the photographer the pic of him seeing me for the first time is a MUST!!!

Have a great night!!

Re: Dilemma

Sorry, I have to disagree on this one. IMO, keeping the tradition of not seeing each other is way more important then pictures. Besides, what if it's freezing outside and you choose not to do it anyway, (this actually happened to my sister who got married earlier in November). Again, this is just my opinion but I feel like the focus should be on the day and how you feel and how you want to remember the feelings...... not about great pictures. Besides, who says the pics wont be awesome without the daylight! Lots of girls say that they saw their FH and it was still amazing, and I know of some girls who wished they didn't do it. It's really up to up and how you feel about it. Good Luck!!

Re: Dilemma

I think it just depends on which is more important to you. We had a day wedding, but since we also had our ceremony at our hall, there was no time in between the ceremony and cocktail hour. Everything was right after the other. We wanted to be able to see all our guests and enjoy ourselves and we decided for us, to take pics before the ceremony. It was a very early morning, but I'm so glad we did it that way. We were both so nervous that morning and seeing each other really relieved those nerves. I felt so much more calm - but i still cried when i was walking down the aisle!

ETA: Our photographer was able to get shots of me walking up to him and seeing each other. We also took the pictures in a park and it was FREEZING, but it was so worth it.

I agree with the ladies, have the photographer take pictures before ceremony...you can still have the pics of your fiance seeing you for the first time...I wish I had done that...It would have been real nice to have pictures like that...

My DH and I had our pictures done before the ceremony and we are soooooo glad we did it. It's hard for it to be 'special' when there are 200 people looking at you as well. I could barely see him anyway, I had all these eyes staring. We got so many wonderful pictures and were able to enjoy our cocktail hour. Best of luck to you.

I am also getting married at the RH in November. FH and I decided to do pictures beforehand. I don't want to miss out on the cocktail hour. I also want about 2 and a half hours worth of picture time, so that once the ceremony is over, we can just relax and enjoy ourselves.

I know its a really hard decision....I didn't want FH to see me beforehand. However, I think we made a decision that was best for us and our situation. Good Luck!

Re: Dilemma

change your times for everything get married earlier or have the cocktail hour started later. I refuse to see my FH before the wedding we are just traditional like that. Its up to you and ask your FH you might be surprised by what he says. My FH said he would def not wanna see me before the wedding.

Re: Dilemma

I took my pictures 1.5 months before the wedding. We did this on the day of the hair and make up trials. We went all over Manhattan taking photos and were not in a hurry at all. It was worth it!!!
I definitely recommend it!

Re: Dilemma

U and FH just have to decide which is more important to u-----outdoor pics or not seeing each other before the wedding. For me, I wanted outdoor pics. Now I'll get to enjoy the coctail hour!
