Dude just treat them like adults. Don't kid-glove the situation... you shouldn't have to.

Trust them to act appropriately.

That's JMO though.

i agree. just invite both and let them know you invited the other person. then its up to them if they want to go or not.

Re: dilemma

yes thats logic... but problem here is what if DH's friend chooses not to come to please his current girl. isnt that a smack in DH's face?

I would invite them both...but give them the heads up that the other will be there. They can decide whether to come or not

send out an email to EVERY1

you KNOW they will BOTH check the list to see if they were invited. they will decide on their own.

if the dude doesnt come to please his gf. who cares. im sure your dh will understand. dont stress yourself out. its not worth it. i know u want to make every1 happy, cuz its just the type of person u are ( ) but they are not 15. and they have a kid together. if his current gf cant handle it, then shes not going to last anyway. na''mean?!

Invite them both, and tell them both that the other will be coming. Let them figure it out themselves. It's not your problem.

This isn't a high school party, it's a house warming. They can come and be adults or stay home. If they choose to stay home for whatever reason that is their loss. There will be plenty of people there for you guys to celebrate with.

What did they do for your wedding?

Re: dilemma

I would let them decide on their own. FSIL and FBIL JUST went through something like this where FSIL is close with this girl and FBIL is friends with this guy. The girl and guy were engaged at one point. They broke it off and it was a TERRILE break up. The girl knew about the housewarming party and that the guy would be there. The guy showed up with his new fiance (new story all in itself) and THEN they told him his ex was coming. He FLIPPED out and ALMOST left but we talked him into staying. He told us 'next time tell me and let me decide and I can prepare myself better'.

Invite them both. They're adults and should be able to act like it. After dating 7 years, they should have a few mutual friends and will run into this situation again. They'll just have to deal with it (like adults).

I'd invite them both and if they asked if the other was coming I wouldn't lie but I wouldn't offer up the info either. They are adults and should know how to behave like ones.

If DH's friends new gf has a problem with it, then it's her problem and she needs to get over it. They have a kid for gods sake they are going to be involved in eachothers lives forever now. If they flake bc of her then DH might not have as good a friend as he thought he did.

The only people that ever talk to me about the wedding are my mom and MOH. It's kind of depressing.

What does this have to do with anything??

OP, I agree w everyone else...we had the same thing happen at our wedding...we told them we loved them both, they were both invited and they needed to figure it out for themselves. They both ended up coming and behaving just fine.
