me and FH are in disagreement about where to stay the night of the wedding. We are providing a hotel for OOT guests and friends, which is where I would also like to go back to and get a room at. However, FH wants to go home to our new apartment. What do you think I should do???
I think I just dont want the night to end and I want to continue some festivities after the wedding at the hotel lounge even if its just for a little bit bc Im sure we will be exhausted. Should I give in to what he wants??? What is everyone else doing or what would you do???
TIA girls!!!

Re: DILEMMA...NEED ADVICE
How about a compromise? Ask a friend that's staying at the hotel to open it up their room as the after-party location. Then you two can go to the hotel, party a little, then go home to the new apt.

Re: DILEMMA...NEED ADVICE
I would want to stay in the hotel. IDK a part of me feel like it is just more celebratory than going home. He wants to go back to the apt, but you will be going back there everynight. (atleast until you move)...
I would convince him by telling him it would be more special to go back another night to have another thing to celebrate on a different day.

we are going to stay at the hotel, but not to party since our wedding ends at 1am. We just want to make it special and no go home to a bed we have already broken in...if u know what i mean...

Re: DILEMMA...NEED ADVICE
We will probably stay in a hotel, but mostly because we live together already, so our house isn't anything insanely special anymore. Besides, I also may want to party on a little more afterwards.
However, FH said that we should just go home b/c we're going to be so exhausted so we're just going to pass out anyway

We are staying at a Hotel in N.Y.C. away from everyone & everything. After the party with all our family & friends we want ALONE TIME just the two of us!

Re: DILEMMA...NEED ADVICE
I think it kinda depends on what time your reception ends. If it's a Friday or Saturday night and it ends at 11pm, then you will probably have guests who want to party a bit more. But if it's a Sunday night at 10 or 11pm, then many of your guests probably won't want to party, even if they have rooms at the hotel.
DH and I chose to stay at a hotel near our RH because we don't have our own 'first' place together yet...if we did, we probably wouldn't have stayed at the hotel.

Re: DILEMMA...NEED ADVICE
If you think there would be other guests there at the hotel that night and the next morning for brunch, etc then I'd vote for the hotel..
..we had only 1other couple in the hotel with us and nothing was going on, and we were all SOOOO tired that I would have preferred to save the $160 and stayed our first night in our new home.

Yea, go figure. I feel like that will be the ONE time I DON'T say 'I'm too tired!'

Re: DILEMMA...NEED ADVICE
Well the GCH gives us the penthouse suite for the wedding night which is sweeeeeet, but if we had had the wedding elsewhere, we would still DEFINITELY be staying at a hotel.

Re: DILEMMA...NEED ADVICE
Well, since Debi and Fred live in Pa., but married in Long Island, they got the Bridal Suite at the Farmingdale Marriott. It was really nice!!!! (Saw it, because, Debi stayed in it the night before the wedding, with Fred in another room, and the morning of the wedding, the BM's and Moms, congregated in the Bridal Suite, for hair/makeup. Then, Debi and Fred stayed in the Suite on their wedding night). Mary MOB
