actually .. i am really sad ... I had a great day at my aunts house in PA today but it brought back a lot of memories of my dad and I brought home a VHS( yeah i know VHS) tape of chritsmas in 1996 made me even more upset to actually see my father and hear his voice. But to top it all off I got into an argument with FH and we were arguing throughout dinner .. (he changes in front of this one friend) ... it just makes me think should we be getting married ... I am scared, and I know people argue, but he knows I was very sensative today he didnt have to be such an *******! sorry so long But thanks for listening!! I really appriciate it.. I have just been feeling depressed lately!

Re: DINA
Dina,
Im so sorry to hear that. I am really sorry that you are feeling sad about your Father today. I imagine those days come and go every so often. You are right, FH should have been more sensitive to the fact that you are having a difficult time. Have you talked to him about your fears an how it makes you upset when he acts that way? I think these doubts are completely normal. You are getting ready to say that you will love this person forever. That is a flippin' scary thing! Don't make any hasty decisions. See how you feel after you are less upset. Take deep breaths, a bath and relax. Everything will work out ok1 Let us know if we can help! -Lauren
the freakin scary part is that when we dont argue... i can't picture my life withiout him .... ugh why does he have to be such an A S S H O L E sometimes??!! it scares me !!!!!!!! And since my dad died i am so sensitive to death ... maybe this weekend didn't really help either but I am extremely sensitive when it comes to my dad!

I think all men have that A$$hole gene and every now and again it takes effect on them! FH has his moments and I just want to smack him, but you love em anyway! Cheer up, it will get better. I saw what FH went through when he lost his father a couple of years ago, you have to tell yourself that they are in a better place and are always with you in spirit. We're here for you girl!

Take a deep breath! before you have to shut one of FI eyes. That is how I feel about fi when he gets around he so-called friend. I can't stand 2 of them (one in particular) He made a comment about my breast 2 years ago and I told him that's why your momma s&*ts in a bucket. He didn't lke that response. But, I feel if you can dish it you can receive it.
I know it angers you sometimes but men do the dumbest things, sometimes at our expense.(the person that cares for them the most). Take a nice soothing bath Dina. You know we always have a lending ear.

I'm so sorry about your dad. I know how you feel b/c everytime we watch a VHS and i see my grandpa (who was like a second father to me) i feel the same way. As far as your FH goes i go through the same. Guys can be really insensitve dumb a s s e s! But i love my FH anyway. It's a good idea to talk to him about how you feel. He might not know how much it hurts you. If you need to talk im here

Aww!! I'm so sorry that you are feeling this way. You are right, your FH should have been more sensitive to your feelings. I think if you just sit down and speak to him about your feelings everything will be fine. If you need anything, let us know.

Im so sorry for what you're going through Dina! Men are just idiots sometimes and are insensitive. You're all reved uo with emotion and I wouldnt make any decisions in this state. Relax and go to bed and think with a clear head tomorrow and have a heart to heart with FH and tell him exactly how he made you feel. In the mean time, we're all here for you

I'm sorry you are going through this Dina, i cant imagine what it is like but, i know when you are going through something we just want support from our FH. Tommorrow you should talk to him about being more sensitive to your feelings and point out to him how he changes in front of that friend. Sometimes men are really insensitive and you have to really show them what they are doing wrong and how much it hurts.... i hope tommorrow is a better day

Re: DINA
awwwe Dina :( sometimes i find it beneficial to write a letter to the person youre thinking about. My sister died almost 18 years ago, and I think about her still on a daily basis... when it gets really rough, I write to her.
I know in my head that she cant physically read it, but that doesnt mean that she isnt getting the message. Maybe you could try writing to your father.. tell him about the wedding plans, how great FH is, and how you know that although he cant physically be at the wedding, there will always be a place for him there.
As far as FH's sensitivity goes, you need to talk to him. If the instances are few and far between when he becomes an a.s.s.c.l.o.w.n. then just talk to him about his insensitivity. Talk to him about how he turns into a different person when he's around that one friend (my FH does that too with this one friend he has....but i ALWAYS put him back in his place lol)... the point is IT CAN BE DONE!!!!
i dont think you should let the insensitivity and that one friend get you down for that long. you have every right to be angry and fired up.... but is it really worth not marrying the guy who has made you happy enough to truthfully consider spending the rest of your life with?
My dad is also the same way... when he would do this to my mother, (lets face it, they can all be a.s.s.c.l.o.w.n.s sometimes, my mom would just go out for a lil while... or go to a different part of the house... and eventually my dad realized what happened, and went to apologize. A lil tough love never hurt anyone!!
I hope everything works out for you, and like the rest of the girls, i'll be here to listen if you need to vent!

I'm so sorry that you have been having a rough time. As much as we all love our FH's yes they can be major A S S H O L E S sometimes and its even harder when you're already bummed. Just the other night we were at our friends house and they started asking questions about the wedding and any honeymoon plans and myFH is not a travler so i knew this was going to spark a fight and it did and i really wanted to punch him in the face b/c he is soooooooo stubborn about things sometimes that there is no getting thru to him.
My father passed away recently and i'm still having a hard time with it. But my FH was there for me like i always knew he would be and if it werent for him I never would have gotten thru this awful year. So when he is a major A S S H O L E i think back to when my dad was sick and how he was there not only for me but my entire family and focus on those parts and not the stupid idiot in front of his friends.
take a deep breath and i hope you're feeling better.

Oh man mdawg that brought tears to my eyes ... it aslo seems like an awsome idea ... I used to buy him fathers day cards and bring them to the cemetary.. however maybe I should vent to him and write a letter!

It sounds like we are dating the same guy irishny8! FH hates to travel too but he said he'll go on a plane one more time for the honey moon .... and to tell you the truth traveling was something that sparked the arguement lastnight at dinner with his ******* friend ...
However I am so sorry again about your dad .. it has been 5 &1/2 years for me already and I dont feel like it has gotten easier .. some people say you will never forget about it but it just gets easier .. yeah right i'm a f^ck!ing basket case sometimes! My dad was my world ... and I can relate to how hard it must be for you! So if you ever want to talk you can talk to me! BTW ... where is your dad buried .. mine is in St.charles.
Also thank you ladies for your advice ... I am still upset but am probably going to do a lot of thinking today thanks ladies!!!!!!!

Re: DINA
ok I have some major advice and a big story so bear with me...
My FH came into my life at the hardest time...He came in at the Marriage of my brother and his wife...they were 21 and his wife got pregnant...it was a happy celebration because everyone loves babies and we are a very accepting family...soon after the baby was born in march...he was yellow and I dont mean normal jaundice yellow I mean canary yellow...soon after the journy and struggle began...he was diagnosed with a rare liver disease...he recieved a live liver transplant from his mommy! It looked like everything was great but then things quickly went down hill within a few weeks he got a fungal infection that took over his whole body.....he passed away November 11 at about 2am... the day after FH and I one year anniversary...He help my hand through everything and to this day is my biggest support and biggest sholder to lean on....I know its a little different but maybe just let him understand and put him in your shoes...life is so delicate...when it is gone you really do see how pecious it is!
FH and I whole relationship was in a hospital watching our nephew die....I couldnt imagine my life with out my FH everyday is a reminder of how we made it through this and we can make it through anything...
