our minister can't do an earlier appointment so our rehearsal is going to be at 9pm. i've normally seen rehearsals done and then the entourage goes out to eat/ hang but is it okay if we do the dinner first???

Re: dinner and then rehearsal?
if i'm not mistaken i remember one bride on here commenting that she had to do this since her rehearsal was late as well.. i dont think it would be a problem to have the dinner first, just make sure you let your BP know this

its not a huge deal but just make sure you give the restaurant enough time to feed you all and you might let them know before hand that you have to be out by a certain time

not a big deal as long as you leave enough time to eat dinner and get to the church without rushing.

actually in thinking about this... i kinda like it better. this way you aren't waiting at the church for people to show up. we had to wait around for some late people... which means then you start the rehearsing late and then you end late and then you are late to the restaurant. for us though... the BP wasn't tooo bad.
I think it works fine either way you do it. the rehearsal will be super fast too... 15 mins to a half hour.

Re: dinner and then rehearsal?
My cousin had to do this for her wedding because we couldn't get in the church early enough. We went to dinner at 530 and then the church at 730.. It didn't feel rushed, just make sure you space the times out correctly

I was going to have to do this and honestly I didnt think it was that big of a deal. In the end my priest ended up changing it to earlier in the night.
(Here is a great tip that the restaurant gave us, if you are having a sit down dinner, send the entree selections w/the invitation so when your guests respond they also pick their dinner. This way the restaurant wont waste time getting everyone's order and if you want the food out at one specific time, that's easier to manage.)
