Dinner in the city

Original post by yelley77

Anyone have any recommendations for a place to eat near the Gershwin Theater? We were trying for Carmine's but they are 'fully committed'. Ugh.

Thanks!

omg, i love mozz in carroza... i might have to switch to there now, lol

either way you can't go wrong. Depends what youre looking for. TOny's is more casual and theres always big parties there, people go in big groups for birthdays and other things. Ive never been to serafina but everybody tells me about it, fh has gone and always tells me we should go soon so i can try it.

Danielle, Check out my places. All within walking distance AND they are totally used to theater times so they'll get you in and out. Delicious. I've eaten at them all

the one in times square right? yeah for the fact that its in times square its going to be packed, unfortunately every place there is like that, thats what S*CKS. I love carmines but to go there at night for dinner is just a headache...I made reservations and still waited to damn hours. Would you consider going somewhere right outside of times square to eat.

If we can walk, then yes. It's nice out and we want to enjoy it. I'll be wearing heels, so nothing super far, lol

They have a 22 dollar theater meal. They bring you pasta to your table and it's all you can eat! Yes, individually the stuff is pricy but you get a two course meal (appetizer and entree for 22 bucks!) All of their wine is $25 dollars also....

Re: Dinner in the city

If your still looking for somewhere, we always go to Nocello's before shows, right near time square, food is amazing, atmosphere is great and very reasonably priced!!

YAY go to Serefina you won't be disappointed I've been to all of the locations and they're all amazing, my fav is the one on 79th and Madison b/c they have an rooftop area that has these amazing lanterns and they open up half of it when its nice out. We went there with FH's parents when they met my parents for the first time and it went over so well everyone loved the food!

My fav is the pesto gnocchi sooo delish!!

Re: Dinner in the city

I used to live a block away from Tony's, FH loves that place, I personally thing its wayyy too much food and I don't think its anything much better than italian food you can get anywhere else but JMO

Re: Dinner in the city

I'm sure someone recommended this already but there is tony dinapoli's right near the theater district. It's the same concept as carmine's, huge dishes, family style italian food. It's very yummy
