Is anyone getting a saxophone or anything like that to play during dinner through their DJ company? Was it a much extra? I'm trying to convince FH it is a GREAT idea

Re: Dinner Music
We REALLY REALLY wanted a dinner singer but he was almost $800 for the hour and we couldn't justify spending that much when our entire DJ package was less than $1100.

Yeah... I know FH won't go for that... I want a saxophone to play during dinner and I have a feeling it's going to cost as much as the DJ... FH has been so good about agreeing with everything I have wanted so far so I don't want to push it!! LOL

We're gettinng a percussionist, but could have chosen a sax player...I think it was only an extra $450 or so through our DJ.

Re: Dinner Music
I'm having a singer, and probably going to do a sax and pianist also.
Not sure about the cost though. It is a great idea. My FH is hard to convince on this also but i'll have my co-workers from the company convince him it's a great idea! lol
You don't HAVE to go through your DJ for this, you can but you don't have to. It's not necessarily more expensive either way depending on ur dj and the performer.

Re: Dinner Music
ooo that sax player would be awesome!!!
we considered a dinner singer but we are already paying extra for a string quartet for 2 hrs (ceremony and cocktail hour) so i don't think we will do it.

We are having a string trio during dinner that we got through our dj - and yes, it costs extra - but we both think it is worth it!

Re: Dinner Music
I think there is a site where independent musicians advertise that you can search...it even has ratings and price..I didnt call any of them but .from what I have seen the prices seem to be much lower than going through a company...i will try to find the site
