Is it typical for the directions and map to your hall have a sort of advertisement on the back? I received these from my hall and was shocked to see this on the back. It says something to the extent of 'for your next banquet or occasion, consider Giorgio's ... etc.' I will not be sending them out in my invitations because frankly I think it is tacky. Tell me if your hall direction cards do have this too, I'm curious! Also please tell me if I am being over sensitive about this issue. Thanks girls.

Re: Direction cards for your hall
Mine just have the name of the hall on the back but no advertising slogan or anything like that. I would also be upset if I were in your shoes.

No. Mine don't have advertisements, but I think there is a better/more direct route to my venue than the one they give, so it's not exactly perfect. But it will do I think!

My RH's direction cards do not have this, but personally I don't think it's a big deal. isn't that their slogan? Either way, I don't think any guests will nitpick it; after all most guests nowadays google the address and use GPS when going places. It will be overlooked.

I hated Giorgio's direction cards so I just had one made as an insert to my invitation.

Mine don't have advertisements, that's definitely tacky. I would talk to them about it. I think a better advertising strategy for them would to be to show your guests a fantastic time and they will consider them for a future event!

Agreed! I'm not using them, i'm going to make my own now. Just aggravated about the way they look and that I have to spend money on this now!

I'm not using the Giorgio's direction cards...I had the person that's doing my invites make one to match the invites. I took the map from the Giorgio's card though.

I don't think my hall does this. Either way I wanted it to match my invite so I got the directions off their website and printed them myself.

i didn't really think that much about that until i saw this. am likely having someone print separately to insert with my invites.

I also didn't use the Giorgio's direction cards because of that too. The version I saw (from when we booked, so a while ago) advertised Sunday Brunch on the back... which is the same time as my wedding. It seemed tacky and potentially confusing for the guests.
This, I made my own inserts

Mine have the venue's name on one side and the directions on the other. No advertising.
