Disappointing Hair Trial VENT

Disappointing Hair Trial VENT

I had my first hair trial yesterday. I made an appointment with the understanding that a trial would be like what you're going to look like ont he big day.
Tha didn't happen. I paid $30 for someone to play with my hair, brush out all the curls (Yuk!) not even really style, just give me an 'idea', and put some of it up with bobby pins. She thought that's what I was looking for and she only had 1/2 hour to spare at a salon. She was nice, but not that really helpful.
Is this the way trials usually are? I hope not cause I went home crying after kinda being excited all day and cancelling other things to do this.

Thats not a real trial..why did she just give you an 'idea'? Is that what you wanted to do? Why you went?

Noo--they should not do that. THe purpose of a trial is to see how your hair will look the day of. Yes, they may have to switch it up until you find something you like, but you should walk away with the style perfect for your wedding--and you should have the trial with your veil and tiara/combs etc.

I don't think it's supposed to be like that, at least not from what other B2B have shown from their trials.

That's awful!! So sorry!!!

That is not at all what my trial was like ... she actually re-styled it after she was nearly done cause I wasn't sure I loved it (I don't remember how much it was - $55?).

Your next trial WILL be better!!!

I have a feeling minr will be like yours, b/c it is my mom's stylist & i got the impression from my mom I wasn't supposed to make a trial appt, just come one night when she works late, so she can 'get an idea'
that's why I haven't called yet. I'm not sure what I am supposed ot do.

That's how my first one was and that was why I ended up somewhere else.

I just had mine the other day and had a full updo with hair pins and veil. I spent 75 and would have been mighty pissed if she just 'gave me an idea'...

I did make the appt for a trial, I brought pictures and enough money for a cool do...
I told her I thought it would be more than 1/2 hour too. She said that the salon only gave her 1/2 hour with me. I think i am more disappointed with the salon cause that was their rate, not hers.
I'm really not copmplaining about the $ just that I walked away feeling crappy and like I was back in Junior High when I had Jr Prom, got my hair done and brought a picture, went home, cried, and did my hair myself anyway.
(Looked GREAT when I was done too)

No that is not a trial, that is a consultation!!! which should be complimentary!! i would call her manager, and tell her you are not satisfied, and that you did not receive a trial. You would like to reschedule a re do
good luck
sorry!!!

do you have to pay a lot? If it's a friend of family maybe not too bad to try her.

Good news though, I have another REAL trial this Tues with a girl through one of the vendors on this site
We just spoke and for $50 she will do my hair exactly how I want it for the day

I guess a good lesson to anyone else out there, just really communicate well with the person, not the salon because they might have differing ideas. I thought I did with the salon, but...

I don't know, I haven't called about prices yet. I am afraid she is not goignt to charge me, & then it won't be a real trial. it woldbe at the salon, so she may charge the regular salon price.

I'll see if my mom can get more details next time she goes.

good news about your new trial.

Hope it goes well.
