Disaster!!!!!!
I want to cry right now...my wedding is a few weeks away and so much has been going wrong. RK Bridal ordered the wrong dresses for my bridesmaids and it cant be changed!!!!!! One bridesmaid dress hasn't arrived because it was ordered from another store
...I am really worried. What if it doesn't come in on time!I just found out one of the groomsmen broke his ankle and is on disability for 6-8 weeks!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I want to scream right now!!!!!!
I still haven't had my hair trial and haven't found a hair stylist! I am literally losing my mind.
Is anyone experiencing something like this?????? I've been mentally and emotionally drained!!!!

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
I am so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!Just know, where there is a will there is a way. I truly hope things work out.
1) RK bridal when you say they ordered the wrong dress is it at least something comparable to what you wanted? as for the one dress that is not there... just try to stay on top of them. If you cant do it personally, assign your MOH or someone else to the job. I ordered my dress with them and have yet to encounter anyone who was not helpful. if it means stalking them then that's what ya gotta do!
2) as for the GM, can someone take his place ( hopefully someone who can fit his tux?) if not then go with the flow, the BP can be uneven there is no law that says it cant. Just have one of the other GM's walk with 2 girls ....a girl on each side.
3) as for hairstyle do you have a style in mind? I will check out your albums for pics and try to google some pic ideas for you... I dont have a stylist yet otherwise I would offer you that info.
When life gives you lemons make lemonade!
It will be fine. if I can help another way let me know!
Edit:
No pics of your dress in your album so I am unsure what would work hair wise ....

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
The manager at RK Bridal was so rude and said there is nothing they can do because. Here's the thing....The dress was suppose to be pool blue with ivory and it came in as all pool blue. My problem is, I had a bridesmad that I kicked out of my bridal party last month and replaced her with another girl. The new girl couldn't take her dress because it was toooo big. So we ordered her dress from a different location. They told me it would be in the last week of march and it hasn't arrived. I just called them and they didn't seem so certain her dress would arrive. Now her dress is the right color, pool blue with ivory. I'm thinking maybe I can find some fabric and have it sewn into the ivory part? Oh gosh, but what if the dress doesn't come in on time. She also needs alterations!
This is so stressful! As far as the GM, FH doesn't really have someone to replace him

As far as a hair style, I was thinking about having my hair half up. I haven't found a hairstylist for the wedding, but I might just have my stylist who straightens my hair try to do a style on my hair. This is just so stressful. Everytime I try to stay positive, there's always something bringing me back down.
I don't know, I just feel like I haven't enjoyed my wedding planning
...I only had 5 months to plan this wedding because I won a Dream wedding giveaway and had to get married on April 26. I think that's why I've been so stressed
Thanks for the advice ladies!

Can they take some of the fabric from the too-big dress to replace the ivory part on the new BM's dress?

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
it won't be enough to cover the ivory parts on the dress
....The other girls don't need major alterations so there isn't enough fabric left from their dress

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
Why is it that the chaos and drama starts the moment you begin the wedding planning!!!!! I've had soooo much drama, I feel like I can write a book
I know eventually I will look back at all of this and laugh. I want to go back to my normal life!! Wedding free..LOL. FH and I don't even have time for each other anymore dealing with all the wedding chaos. It's crazy!
I just hope with all this drama, I better have record breaking temperatures on the day of my wedding!!!!!
I appreciate all the advice!!!!!!

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
don't worry it will all get worked out. Hopefully the bm dresses get fixed but if not dont worry nobody else will know they weren't supposed to be all pool blue, at the end of the day you will be the only one who knows well you and your bm's and they can still pull it off. While youre enjoying your day, you'll realize that you wont even pay attention to the fact that there is no ivory on the bm dressesas far as the GM ankle, don't worry it will work out somehow. For my wedding i am the one who broke my ankle a few weeks before the wedding and was in a cast. While i tore a couple of ligaments first week of april and had 6-8 weeks to heal and i only healed the week of my wedding by some miracle. As the bride who had to deal with it an it still worked out, dont worry this will work out too.
things somehow come together, you still will enjoy your day just as much bc as much as we stress now about these things, its funny how the day of everything matters but all these small details. The joy you will fell will overcome all of that. And no i am not taking away from what you are going through now and not saying it's not a big deal which ppl think all the time on here that others are doing. But truly speaking from experience from somebody who had a lot of bad luck before the wedding, somehow the day of none of that even mattered. I had tragic stuff such as my dad in the hospital for a month and had double bypass surgery just 2 months before the wedding, i was in a cast just 6 weeks before, along with many other things. I wanted to strangle someone before the wedding and wondered why i had to have all these bad things happen. Funny enough the day itself couldn't have gone more perfect. Not one thing went wrong and couldn't have asked for a better day. You're dealing with enough stress as it is and im sure your day will be amazing and with all this far behind you.

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
OMG, you had broken your ankle! Wow! I'm so glad you recovered before your wedding. At the end of the day, I just want to be able to enjoy my wedding. Like you said, people might not even notice the problem with the dresses. I woke up today with a new attitude! I need to stop stressing things and need to start enjoying the last few weeks before the wedding. FH says I'm going to make myself so sick if I continue to worry and stress everything. I guess every bride has their share of chaotic moments.
Thank you so much for the advice!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
So sorry. I feel the same way. The wedding is in less than three weeks.RK completely ruined my mothers MOB dress, and we had to hunt for a new one in her size. It was such drama...and RK like you said was incredibly rude to us.
In other news... FH just broke out with a case of adult chicken pox! I just hope he clears up before the big day

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
Is the ivory part a detatchable sash?? If so then why not just have the MOH wear the ivory sash so she stands out...and the rest of the girls wear the blue. Are the MOH and BM close in size?? Maybe they can swap dresses??

Thanks for the advice ladies!
well cant you have the new BM take the dress from the BM thats no longer there and just have it altered.. it will fit her if they alter it
I ordered my BMs dresses from RK Bridal and I must say that the guy in the store went over my exact colors like three times (i have 2 colors in the dress)... are you sure that it was specificed in the order form? Because that is their fault and they have to order you new sashes and make them rush it

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
Yes, they also ruined my MIL dress too. Also ordered the wrong color and didn't do a great job with her alterations. She spent so much money and is now trying to find a plan B.Chicken Pox....Yikes!!! Wow!!! I really hope it all goes away before your wedding day!
Why do these things gotta happen so close to the big day!!!! Ugh!!!!!!!!

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
Unfortunately it's not detachable
...The MOH has a totally different dress from the girls...(Same color as the BM dress)..and was ordered from Bijou bridal where I got my dress because her dress was also free from the contest. Alterations have been done for her so no swapping can't be done
...plus the BM is a size 6 and MOH is a 12.I think I'm just better off trying to find some fabric to cover the ivory part and make it all pool blue like the other BM dresses.....and if that doesn't work...I'll just leave it alone. This is so stressful! My head feels like it's pounding!!

Re: Disaster!!!!!!
The exact colors were written in the order form. They said nothing can't be done because the manufacturer doesn't do rush orders. The manager didn't give me an apology. her attitude was 'Oh well'..kind of like 'suck it up'.Welcome New Vendors
