I am worried that a dress that I love will become discontinued. I haven't gone dress shopping yet but right now it is my favorite dress and has already been around for a couple of years. I want to get the dress from Lillette's, however, I want to hold off on making an appointment to try dresses on until they move to their new location this fall. Is there any way of finding out if a dress is going to be discontinued?? Can I just call the company somehow?? Or do you think if I call Lillette's they will tell me if and when it will be discontinued before I make an appointment?? TIA!

i have been told that dresses are usually discontinued in the fall. the best bet is to check the designers website to see if the dress is still shown. then i would call the designer.
one of the dress i fell in love with in the store had been discontinued last fall (2008) & the store still had people trying it on in April 2009. i was pissed.

I would either call the company directly, or try calling Lillette's. See if they can help you.

I am in love with a dress that is from a few years ago and I am soooo petrified it is going to be discontinued. When I was at Lilltette's trying it on the saleswoman told me that they have no notice of when dresses will be discontinued until they get a letter from the designer and then that is that.
I think I actually may contact the designer myself, too!

usually the salon's know, or can find out for you, and if you still dont get an answer try contacting the company directly

yeah thats your best bet - I think the stores try to 'scare' us into buying right away by telling us this...

right before i ordered my dress i was really afraid that it was going to get discontinued (of course it was). i asked the bridal consultants how i could find out if it was discontinued and they told me to follow the dress on the stores website. they said as long as it was still there then it was not discontinued. hth!
