Anyone in the law enforcement or civil service field try to use that to get a discount with their vendors?

My FH is an NYPD officer and many places honored it with a discount. They saw he was wearing an NYPD t-shirt and offered without our asking...i jokingly told my FH that he needs to wear it to ever vendor we visit. lol on the downside..we didnt book with any of the vendors that offered this disount bc we found better deals without it.

I wonder if vendors offer military discounts. My FH is currently deployed in Afghanistan :( We could use all the help we can get.

we have gotten a few for FH being in the Army.... hey you never know unless you ask. whats the wost that happens they say no.

FH is NYPD and discounts have sort of been thrown at us before we were even able to ask for it once they know that he's a police officer whether it be because of his NYPD shirts, his badge in his wallet, or them just flat out asking what our careers are.
