Re: DISCOURAGED!!!

i agree....probably gaining muscle...i wouldnt worry about the scale...start measuring yourself and see the difference that way. Muscle weighs more than fat but you will look thinner

muscle weight

ITA. Muscle weighs more than fat. You shouldn't weigh yourself, but Measure yourself. It makes a world of difference when you measure yourself and see 3 inches gone rather than a pound. Take it from someone who trains like its her job. I'd rather not jiggle and weigh slightly more than weigh less and still jiggle.

Your muscles are retaining water so that you don't cause damage to them. Don't worry, in a few days, you won't see that weight anymore.

Muscle is DENSER than fat it doesn't weigh more. You could be gaining muscle so yes your weight would increase but not bc it is heavier than fat. does that make sense?

imagine 1 pound of fat it is larger and looser
now, imagine 1 pound of muscle it is lean smaller and denser yet is still one 1 pound!

don't go by the scale measure yourself that is the sure fire way to know if you are gaining muscle and loosing the fat surrounding it.

THANK YOU. This is my biggest pet peeve. Muscle does not weigh more than fat....it just takes up less space. A pound is a pound is a pound. If you put a pound of muscle, a pound of fat, and a pound of feathers on a scale, they're all still a pound.

When you introduce exercise into your routine, your muscles start tearing. Then they retain water in order to repair themselves. So the weight gain you're seeing is most likely water weight. Just continue working out and it'll come off eventually.

Remember: NO ONE EVER GOT FAT FROM EXERCISE.

Yep!!! Don't get discouraged!!!! U just have to keep working out. At one point I was the same but I still continued. I started in January and am down 26 lbs. You just have to keep going. I work out 6 days a week and eat 6 times a day...small portions...breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner, snack. SO every 2 hours...it speeds up ur metabolism. For snacks I don't have nothing more than 100 cals. It really has been working for me. Then when you lose a decent amount of weight...reward yourself!!! I got a new wedding gown because I wanted to show off my figure. Good Luck and FM me if you have more questions!!

Wow, really good info!!! my biggest issue is eating all the time. It's so hard for me. I'm up at 7 and probably don't eat till 10:30-11 and then don't eat again till like 4 and then I'm usually done for the day or if I get hungry I eat again at 7ish...I have to work on getting my metabolism moving! Thanks for the suggestion!

Make things that you can eat on the go like sandwich (tuna, turkey, PB)!! Get things that you can take with you!!! I do this alot. Sometimes for breakfast I just have a bar but I always have tea with nothing in it for breakfast which helps to keep me filled. No prob!!
