So I decided that I want to book a Disney honeymoon. There website is overwhelming. So many different plans, packages, specials, etc. What is the best way to plan a Disney honeymoon? Do they offer discounts to honeymooners? I am totally lost. If anyone can set me in the right direction I would appreciate it. TIA

Re: Disney Honeymoon - Help
I've gone to Disney a couple of times. The 1st time I went I stayed on Disney, but realized it was a bit of a waste of money. If it's your first time at Disney you may still want to stay at Disney for the experience, but if you're looking to save some money you may want to look at some of the nice hotels off the property where you'll get nicer accommadations for less money. I don't think they offer huge savings to honeymooners, but it's worth a try.

I know they are offering free dining plans with your trip that is booked. Other than that, I can't be of too much help.

Re: Disney Honeymoon - Help
We just went there for 4 days for my 30th bday in April. I'd be happy to give you advice as to how to plan a disney vacation. I do not believe they do anything different if it's for your HM besides give you these cute pins to wear that say 'just married'...
If you do decide to book it and want the minnie/mickey bridal ears, let me know. I have them here, and we just wore them for about a half hour when we were there and haven't since. They're very cute for pictures.

Re: Disney Honeymoon - Help
You should go to a travel agent.. they are usually very knowledgeable about the whole Orlando experience, and can explain about the meal plan options, and even book your dinner reservations for you, and explain Fast Pass. I've never stayed at a Disney hotel, but if you can afford to they are really great.. the 3 on the monorail are fabulous, but even the moderate ones are nice. If you are planning a beginning Nov trip, it should be off season so hopefully you'll get some deals. you should get a book (the library has many) that will give the lowdown on all the hotels, rides ect. that helps.

Re: Disney Honeymoon - Help
As someone who worked for the company for four years, go through Disney Travel Company NOT a travel agent if you want the most seamless experience and the best info and pricing. At least for hotel and park tickets. Airfare you can get through wherever.

Re: Disney Honeymoon - Help
definitely call Disney Travel Company - you'll get the most help there. Also if you want to just get some ideas of what to do, where to stay on Disney property, I think www.allears.net has great advice, reviews, etc.

I am a disney vacation club member. I would call disney direct to book your tickets and room. The meal plan is def a great deal. I got engaged in disney in April and although we went out to some real nice dinners we used the whole meal plan. Its alot of food and it pays. My advice is stick to the higher end resorts. Grand Floridian, Boardwalk, Beach Club. You will have the most enjoyable experience at those places. If you want anymore info FM me. I have been there soo many times I have is memorized.

Re: Disney Honeymoon - Help
I actually disagree with many of you- Speaking with a travel agent is just as valuable as booking directly. You will not get it any cheaper doing it directly. But getting an agents expertise is always helpful! Speaking to a person in person instead of on the computer or on the phone is always best, especially if they have a lot of experience with Disney. Staying on property is usually the best way to go, since that is the only way you can get the meal plan, which is TOTALLY worth it! As for the special for the free meal plan, its only available for certain dates, so it may not work with your travel time. HTH- please let me know if you have any questions!

Re: Disney Honeymoon - Help
I went to Disney on my honeymoon. I compared the pricing from Disney Travel and a local travel agent... Disney won HANDS down.
its your honeymoon, so I'd stay on property but not at the Grand Floridian. Its over hyped. Id stay at the Polynesian. Definitely do a meal plan and utilize the photo pass 100%
Here are a few things we did/used (copied from my honeymoon file... lmaooo):
- dinner at victoria and albert's in grand floridian - the food is INSANELY good and its so romantic.
- Professional Portrait service at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa*: Sign up for a one-on-one photography session with one of our photographers. You’ll get beautiful photos with a personal and professional touch and all the photos will be included on your PhotoCD. Sitting fee is required. Reservations are required and can be booked up to 30 days in advance. Call 407-824-1700 to book.
You can pay $49.95 for a Sitting Fee only. In this case you are given a PhotoPass with the approximately 40 photos that will have been taken during the session. You can use that PhotoPass to select individual prints and pay for each one. Alternatively, you can pay $124.95 for the Sitting Fee plus all of the PhotoPass pictures taken by PhotoPass photographers throughout your stay on a PhotoPass CD. The Grand Floridian photo session must be booked in advance.
- Enjoy a 1 hour portrait session with a Professional Disney Photographer at a designated Walt Disney World® location. You will receive twenty (20) 4×6 prints in a beautiful Disney-Themed, bound album. For reservations please call Disney Photographic Services (407) 827-5099.
- At Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resort Marina, a handsome reproduction of a 1930 mahogany runabout called Breathless is available for private rental. For 275(+ tax an tip), up to six guests can take a Fireworks Cruise (45-50 minutes) for an exhilarating, one-of-a-kind view of “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.” The craft travels across Crescent Lake to Epcot for the nightly fireworks, sound and laser show. Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance by calling 407/939-7529 (WDW-PLAY).
- Have dessert at Beaches and Cream in the Beach Club.
We also spent a day at Discovery Cove and swam with the dolphins! It was soooo awesome.

Re: Disney Honeymoon - Help
I would look around the web for discount codes (intercot.com, mousesavers.com) and then just call 1-407-WDISNEY. They will help you with everything.
There are also Disney Specific travel agencies that make things very seamless. I have used 'the magic for less' and they have been really helpful.
I also HIGHLY recommend 'The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World' it will help with EVERYTHING.
I personally love staying on property and I think it's worth it (of course we usually stay at 'Value' resorts and use our passholder discount, so it's more comparable to off property places in terms of price). You're surrounded by Disney the WHOLE time, and people are so awesome if they know it's a honeymoon or other celebration. You also have great transportation to the parks and can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, which help you pack in a LOT into a short period of time.
