Disney Invitation Ideas-Someone asked for these

Disney Invitation Ideas-Someone asked for these

Has anyone on here used Disney Save the Dates and/or Invitations? I have seen a bunch that I really like, but they are a lot more expensive than most invitations. If I can help it I would rather not spend a lot on invitations, but they really would be perfect.

The problem with dong anything like DISNEY is you are going to heve to lay out major mooola to do it if you go with anything from the company. Despite being a billion dollar company, they still feel the need to make more soooo you have to try and get around it.

If you are artistic, you have a few options; most time consuming but they might be start off points.

Ok. There are a few options depending just how artistic you are. I'll give you the three I thought of.

Option1-SUPER EASY.
Get plain invitations in a craft store-you can usually get like 50 for 25 bucks and you print them yourself-there are instructions inside.
Prnt them out and then apply a sticker of the character you like at the top of the invite-they do sell nicer stickers-like silver ones or gold. I would stay away from color ones just because then they make look childish and less elegant.

Punch holes in the tope and thread a pretty ribbon through it and make a bow. If you want to go fancier with the print, use a color font in something pretty like cursive.

Option#2-Little More Work: Same as before but instead you buy a stencil of the character and then fill it in with gold or silver ink to get that 'higher class' effect. If you printed the invite on vellum paper and then applied the white cardstock of the invite behind, it would look more luminous. Repeat the process with the bow.

Option #3- WORK AND SKILL!
Ok this is the way I would go ONLY because I was a graphics art major in school and know ADOBE PHOTOSHOP and other art programs. If you or anyone you know can work those prgrams, this would probably look the nicest but its a multi step process.

Start with the plain invitations. Then I would go online and find a photo of the disney character(s) you like-preferabbly with no background. If you or anyone you know knows how to work Adobe, this is the time to use it because you would have to empty out the background. OR you can pick a darker background and then just trim the photo down to a square or some other shape like a heart. In adobe I would fade it out(preferably work with a larger picture) till its almost translucent with no bacground, almost ghostly. Save it. You will have to import it later to print it out on vellum.

Print it out on vellum and cut it to the size of cardstock. The image should fill most of the paper. Beneath it you would put your plain white invitation cardstock that had the invite printed on it. So you'd see your characters look etheral and whimsical without completely overpowering the invite. Repeat process with the ribbon to loop them both together as in the other ideas.

You can do the same thing with the save the dates-Save the Dates I'd really go with the stencil or sticker idea to save you time and aggravation.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much. I've thought about doing the invitations myself but I wasn't really sure how to do it. Those are some great ideas to get me started.

Thanks again!

we are mostly using mickey and minnie. we are just trying to incorporate the disney stuff in the wedding without totally overdoing it. the only thing so far that isnt mickey is we have a cinderella cake topper.

i also have a mickey and minnie ring bearer pillow, mickey and minnie floral centerpieces for only two of the tables, a mickey and minnie statue for the place card table. ive also been looking into the invitations, some favors, i want to make a disney coloring book for the kids and just some other little decorations that i could put around the tent.

btw i know you asked this question weeks ago, but i only just saw it tonight!
