Disney lovers - first dance song

Hi Ladies,

My FH and I don't have 'a song' together since we have very different tastes in music BUT we both really like Disney.

Is 'Can you feel the love tonight 'or 'When you wish upon a star' silly First Dance Songs ???

I think if it's a song that both of you like and it means something to you, then it's the right song to have. I think they are both nice songs.

My bro and sis-in-law danced to 'A Whole New World' (from Aladdin)... It was beautiful.

The songs you picked aren't silly at all. However, isn't 'When You Wish Upon a Star' on the short side? - just something to consider....

I love Can you feel the love tonight, it's a beautiful song!! DH and I aren't big Disney fans but The Lion King is our favorite Disney movie. We didn't use it for our wedding but I'm thinking of using it for the recap on our video.

its not actually! FH and I are using this song, but its a version sung by Billy Joel (very jazzy)

FH and I are Disney fanatics, and we're dancing to 'A Whole New World' for our first dance. 'Circle of Life' is a nice one too, I was thinking of dancing to that one with my dad.

I think that's great. Check out the song 'Beautiful' by Wayne Brady. It is on one of the Disney CD's...I'm not sure if it's from a Disney movie though(it talks about Cinderella in it!) I'm a disney fanatic and I never heard it until recently. It such a great song!!

It's your wedding and if the songs mean something to you and your FH, then do it! Who cares if anyone thinks that they are silly!! It is all about you and him!! I think it will be great!!!

I know many disney fans whose 1st dance was 'Can you feel the love tonight' - I love that song anyway, and I'm not a disney fan - I think its great!

i'm going to have to continue the 'feel' of this thread: as long as YOU and DH feel this is a good song, go for it!

it will be nice if you're having a disney inspired wedding.

even if you're not having a 'disney wedding', it will still be nice. we didn't have a disney wedding, but we had a disney cake topper... because it 'spoke to US'
