Disney Restaurant Question

Disney Restaurant Question

.Okay, so I just called the Disney reservation desk for restaurants, and the only time they have to eat at Cinderalla's Castle for dinner is at 4:10. Thats a bit early. We got the dining plan, so that uses up 2 out of our 5 sit down meals. My question is, is it really worth it? The pictures I found online of the place don't look really nice. FH and I are trying to find nice/romantic places to eat.

So far we've booked, Wolfgangs downtown (Wofgang is FH's idol, so that was a given.. ) and the coral reef at Epcot, because i told FH he had to plan a date, and he doesnt really know disney but he said the only thing he knows of disney was seeing that restaurant on Full House and it looked nice

I tried for Le Cellier, but thats ALL booked for the days we are there... What other nice restaurants do you recommend?

I know I want to do some of the fun ones too, like Prime Time Cafe, but thats not expensive, so we dont mind paying for that for lunch.

Okay this started out as one question and turned into many and i started rambling so i'm going to stop now.. Thanks for all those who beared with me here

Re: Disney Restaurant Question

The last time we were there my FH and i had a romantic dinner at the California Grll in the Contemporary. Expensive, but worth it. The view is incredible, apparently it's a great place to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We were there for the sunset, which was amazing. If you go, ask for a table by a window. And I have dietary restrictions for medical reasons, and they made me an entire special meal that was incredibly tasty. They were so concerned. A wonderful meal!

I liked the SciFi drive-in place at MGM a lot, just because it was fun.

Have you looked at All Ears Net ? It has the most comprehensive Disney info anywhere. Amazing amount of stuff for every restaurant, snack bar, anything. Also about the hotels, attractions, even where to park.

Have fun! I love Disneyworld--I'm not really a Disney fan, but I love Disneyworld. It's just so well done and so well run. Al the things you don't even notice, like the fact that there aren't any moquitoes anywhere in the parks.

Thanks.. I do know of that website. FH and I have looked at the menus of the places that have already been suggested. I am kind of a picky eater, so looking at that site is very helpful!

Re: Disney Restaurant Question

Flying Fish on the Boardwalk is fantastic

Spoodles is a Mediterranean style restaurant also on the boardwalk and is quite good.

California Grill at the top of the Contemporary Resort is great - American food

Both restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Lodge are wonderful - one is a buffet with lots of different African cuisine along with some traditional American stuff - the other is a very nice sit down place - the names are escaping me at the moment...

If you are looking to get dressed up and really go all out you HAVE to make a reservation WAY in advance at Victoria and Alberts in The Grand Floridian - AMAZING! and very elite and very expensive but TOTALLY worth the experience.

Actually - a safe bet is any of the restaurants at any of the resorts. They are all really great.

The Italian restaurant at the front of Magic Kingdom - Lady and the Tramp themed - is also excellent.

The meal plan is a great idea for families in my opinion. When Dan and I go we just pay as we go. The meal plans involve so much food and we just don't eat that much. On one of our trips an older couple was standing in the restaurant we went into and paid for our meal with her meal plan because they had not used all the money on it and were going to lose it. They just gave away meals! Seems a bit wasteful to me but a lot of people like not having to think so much about it and then you don't have to budget daily food spending.

There are SO MANY wonderful restaurants on Disney property it's insane. My husband has eaten at all of them. When I say restaurants I mean the sit down service ones - not the cafeteria style ones. You really can't go wrong at any of the restaurants.

I have been to all these places - my husband and I are Disney freaks and we both worked there - me for a short time him for 6 years so we know our stuff.

If you have any other questions feel free to FM me!

Definitely go to Emeril's at City Walk (Universal) -- was the best meal FI and I have ever had!!!

Another great one is Fulton's Crab House in Downtown Disney

Prime Time Cafe is SO MUCH FUN! I worked at MGM and went there often - Loved it!

Do the luau at the Polynesian - so much fun! Neat experience.

All the resturants in Epcot are great - any of the countries - almost all of them have a fancy sit down resturant. If you are interested in specific cuisine this would be a good place to try it out. I personally LOVE mexico.

If you are going to Epcot Japan and Italy were great spots.

If you are willing to go outside Disney, Emeril's at (the other theme park, shhh) was WONDERFUL!

I agree with the California Grill and any of the restaurants at Epcot. I loved Japan and Canada. I stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and ate at the restaurant. Very nice.

Re: Disney Restaurant Question

Thanks girls. I would do Emerils (We are going to the other park because thats FH's happiest place on earth ) But FH is in the restaurant business and can't stand Emeril, so thats not really an option.

We got the basic dining plan which includes one snack, one cafeteria style meal and one sit down. I dont see how we wont use them. We are trying to make the reservations for sit downs and plan on using them all for dinner, and then use the cafeteria style for lunch. FH loves to eat and doesnt stop, so i dont think it will go to waste
