Disposable Camera Question....

Disposable Camera Question....

I really want to have cameras on the tables, but not really sure if it is worth it.

I have researched the web for prices and founf ebay to have the best deals.

For already married brides who have done this: was it worth it? Did the pictures come out?

My FH does not really like this...but too bad... I just don't want to miss a beat.

Re: Disposable Camera Question....

we attended a wedding with them in March...to be honest, our table felt bad by the end of the wedding and we just started taking shots of each other and passing it around the table...and then just pointing and shooting to fill it up.

Re: Disposable Camera Question....

I've read a lot of girls that say it's not worth it. Some say that the few pictures guests do take tend to come out grainy, and a lot of people forget to turn the flash on.

I was actually thinking of putting my e-mail address in the reception packet for those guests who took pictures with their own digital cameras. Something like...

'Did you get a great shot of the groom looking adoringly at the bride? Or capture a priceless funny moment in that digital camera of yours? Please share it with the happy couple by e-mailing a copy of it to [email protected]'.

I don't know if that would be cheesy, but so many people bring their own digital cameras to weddings now... I want to make sure I get to see them! I think it would be a waste to place cheapy cameras on the table - when we can just ask them to send us some of the great shots they took for free!

i spent money on camaras and they weren't that expensive....but my guest hardly used them. I have camaras with just five or six pictures taken. And another thing i got married in october and they are still sitting in a bag waiting to be developed.
now a days people have digital camaras. Most of my guest just emailed me thier pics.

well ive done some research about this on the boards and from what people have been saying the wedding cameras are really crappy......but if you get regular ones and label them that would be cute!

We went to Costco and bought packs of 3 of the kodak cameras. Out of 25 tables, we had 6 cameras that were entirely used, 4 that weren't touched at all, and the rest had 3 pictures taken, 6 pictures taken, etc.... we still have those cameras and will develop as we use them up.

We did them and they were ok.

Not worth the $. I don't look at any of them. They were really dark even w/ flash. I bought Fugi ones from Wall Mart.

The bridal attendant went around with the unused ones and took pics of guests at the end of the night and 1 of my bm's used the remaining at the after party. I even took 2 w/ me on the honeymoon.

Overall not worth it, I got much better pics from people who emailed me their digital pics.

The email idea is a GREAT idea!!!

I don't think it's worth it, IMO. Plus the cost of developing is crazy. I think most people will have their own digital cameras and will share their pictures with you.

Re: Disposable Camera Question....

From reading multiple posts on the subject, it seems to be hit or miss. The wedding cameras don't take great pics, but the Kodak and Fuji ones appear to, as long as people remember the flash.

I'm doing a table camera scavenger hunt, with a list of pics to be taken with each camera, in the hopes that I improve my odds of good pics. Developing the film is relatively inexpensive at Costco/BJs, so I'm not all that worried about that.

I have definitely heard mixed reviews about having cameras on the tables. Me and FH were talking about doin this. My aunt did it at her wedding and said that some of her favorite pictures came from those cameras...minus of course my uncle's feet (he was drunk and thought it was funny )

I agree, plus you have to think about your guests. Are they the type of people who will do this for you? My family loves the tables cameras and will take some of the zaniest pictures you'll ever see. I plan on doing it for just that few pictures that are note-worthy.

Re: Disposable Camera Question....

There was a bride that researched all different kinds of cameras. SHe said the fuji celebration pack was best. (4 in a pack) We went with those. The biggest complaint I heard from past brides was people forgetting the flash. We put a label, right on the back, where you need to put your face for the shot: 'PLEASE TURN FLASH ON'

SO far, we got 5 cameras developed and they turned out nice. Especially considering we got the professional proofs and we are missing many guests in those shots. The table cameras reminded us who was there and what they were wearing. (I barely remember anything from the night, because it went so quick.)

Granted, most cameras were not totally used. So, we brought a bunch on the honeymoon. It was the best idea we had! Well, the best idea I can share with you about the honeymoon.

And, we got them developed at walmart with the CD you can download to your computer. This way we could share the pictures with everybody, even OOT guests. Each roll has cost between $7-$7.50 with the developing and the CD.

I didn't. At my cousins wedding she did but she had alot of half empty cameras. And honestly you get soooooo many pictures. I had pics from his parent, my parent, two aunts and my SIL and my BILs brother. Who all had digital cameras so we got all of them on a cruzer mini. We had sooo many. I'm glad we didn't.

Re: Disposable Camera Question....

Someone told me that I should get 4 or 5 cameras and give them to designated people and take it from there.
I have been to a wedding where no one took pictures with them and then when they finally did it ended up being peoples butts and teeth and stupid stuff like that.....

So I think I might just give a couple of my friends a camera and at least know that some good pics will be taken.

We had them, and I'm sooo glad we did. It was fun to see the wedding from the guests perspective. We only had 11 tables, so it wasn't a huge expense. We got the Fugi cameras, and if you are going to do it, don't get the cheap cameras. Get ones with the auto flash and good speed film.

I got them for my wedding and some pictures I got were wasted but there were alot that came out great. For the $100 that I spent on the camera it was worth it for those few memorable pictures.

I put this in our church program and at the table at the reception and only one person did this. You might not want to rely on your guests sending you copies of their pictures.
