I am going too but it depends on how much money we have towards the end because these is not a must have but I was at a wedding were the bride and groom asked eveyone who took pics to upload them to there shutterfly account and gave them there user name and password

IMHO its a big waste of money, not only for the camera, but the processing.

Not to mention the poeple who WILL take the camera home.

Whne we got married I told certain people that I would like copies of pix from their cameras. I have 5 groups of pix from 5 people. It was more than enough 'extra'.

SO, IMHO, put the money toward something else.

Re: Disposable cameras??

since most people have digital cameras these days, its pretty easy for them to share whatever pics they take. I would print up cards (from someplace like vistaprint) and set up photo sharing site for people to download their pics to. Check out this thread for some ideas:

I use to think they were a good idea. But I have to agree with some of these ladies. Lots of people have digital cameras and will give you the pictures. It also costs a lot to get them developed.

It cost me $100 to get all 12 developed. All of them were still on the tables at the end ofthe evening. I did the photo scavenger hunt and my non dancing guests had a ball doing it :) its preference. The pics are def terrible quality but I def have pics of everyone at my wedding bc of these cameras. I put them all in a photo album :). HTH

If u really want them then go for it! We are not doing them bc my FH s friends from work are a bit twisted and I'd be afraid of what pictures I find

i think they are a waste of money and dont take good quality pics. I mean with all the camera phones and digital cameras out there...

plus I know from past weddings, all people do is take stupid pics, including going to the bathroom...

its better to put a note on the table requesting that they upload their digital prints to a website and have them all there!

We put on I Spy lists on each table and I ordered the cameras from the knot with a coupon.

I haven't developed them yet, but did notice that not everyone use all of the 24 exposures on the cameras.

I also gave one to each of the kids with their own list so they could have some fun.

Honestly, not worth it. Most pictures are TERRIBLE (especially in a darker reception room), are pricey to purchase and develop and a lot of times, guests just take them! Besides, 90% of people have their own cameras- whether an actual camera or one on their phone!

I wanted to have these but after seeing the pics from my sister's wedding, I don't think it's such a good idea. First, the lighting is not good (especially if you have dim lighting at your reception) and since it's disposable you cant really adjust anything. Second, you will need to have these developed which is another extra cost, for pics that you don't even know if they are album worth it or not because there's no way to check them. Lastly, almost everyone has a facebook, people will definitely post pics and are definitely of better quality than the pics coming from a disposable camera. HTH

With everyone having disposable cameras, you don't want them having to go back and forth between the 2. I would just go with the notes to upload them for you. Most people bring their cameras and do those stupid pics also anyway. I personally think those are fun!

I put up a sharesite and gave the info to everyone in their favor bag.... only 4 people uploaded their pics.. but you also have FB to help with this too so you get to see more pics of your special day!
