Distressed

Distressed

I'm so torn …I've been dying to start TTC for 8 months now (since my wedding) and DH wanted to wait until he was more ready. Well - he's finally ready and I'm absolutely thrilled. He wants to start now and so do I - the problem is I have a wedding of someone very close to me in June - if I got PG now (the first month I try) I could very likely miss the wedding. I feel so sad because I think the right thing to do is to give it onemore month to start TTC, but I really don't want to. I don't know how long it will take us, etc. I just feel so torn.

Re: Distressed

I am so sorry that you are distressed.
This is a VERY EXCITING time for you and your DH. I think you should just weigh your options.
I was in a friends wedding party and chose to put off TTC because I wanted to be able to be part of her big day and celebrate (drink.) This was also my best friend and I am in no way suggesting this be the answer for you.
If you decide not to try this month, you could use this time to start charting your cycle.. so you know exactly when to do the BD.
I would think its ok to start trying, sometimes it doesnt happen right away. (hopefully it will)Also ask yourself the question, do you really want to put off having a family just to attend a wedding? Another wedding may come up a month from now, are you going to have to delay it again?
I think (hope) that your friend will understand if you cannot attend her wedding because you are 9 months pregnant... In fact I think she will be happy for you!!!!
You have to do what is right for you and your DH.. Think about your work schedule, when is it better to go on maternity leave?
I know I just rambled a bunch of things. I think I am just trying to get you to think..
Hope it is helpful!

Re: Distressed

from a brides' point of view, I had a BM get PG after I asked her and she thought I'd be mad. Nope...she is my best friend and I just wanted her there. She was 7 months PG at our wedding and gave birth 2 months later. I was pleased as punch she didn't back out. She was having trouble getting PG, so I didn't care either way.

Ask your friend how she would feel about a PG bridesmaid. You might be surprised! I have a wedding in Oct '05 and I'm not sure if I'll be PG or already have a baby by then, but I'm definitely going to go as a guest (no BP)

Re: Distressed

Thanks Ladies -

I know she'd understand if I couldn't be a bridesmaid - my concern is missing the wedding altogether. I know it is only waiting a month, but I've been charting, taking prenatals, etc. for 3 months and I just want to start trying. This person is like a sister to me, however, so I know the right thing to do it to wait. My DH doesn't understand this point of view and thinks you can't plan these things to a tee.

Re: Distressed

My sister, also my matron of honor was pregnant, 81/2 months for my wedding, there was the chance that she would go early, and possibly miss my wedding..and I wS FINE with that! I didnt want her to miss my wedding of course..but was so happy for her that I would have gotten over it. I would never have wanted her to postpone something so miraculous as having a child for my wedding...so go for it! And have fun!!!!
