Disturbing news

Hi to all you helpful brides out there. I just wanted to thank everyone for the help I've received so far on this site.
Even though my FH and I didn't have a hall officially booked (but were going to in 2 days), but had all the plans in the works (interviews, appointments, meetings, etc.,)
he decided to pospone the wedding and the plans until who knows when. We were planning for Oct/Nov 04 and he was excited too, but now I don't know. Honestly, he was the one who wanted it earlier (he's 36) and wanted to start a family soon after. I was o.k. with that, but could've been flexible too. And He said After a certain age he might not want to have kids at all. UGH!
Now I am just not excited about any thing at all. We're still officially engaged, but who knows...
I think I could use some encouraging words too...
I just wanted to thank everyone for the support and knowledge, wisdom and kindness across the board. And I hope to use this site again in the near future. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE OUT THERE!!!

Re: Disturbing news

Maybe he's just getting cold feet. After 36 years, the idea of getting married can be a little overwhelming. Maybe the reality of it just kind of got to him for now. Like 'Oh my gosh, we are really going to do this. Damn!!!' Give him a little while. Talk to him and ask if anything has happened to make him change his attitude so quickly. Just try to not sound accusational when you do it. You don't want to get him on the defensive or anything. Good luck, and know that we are all here for you.

I hope evrything works out for the two of you.
Maybe he will change his way of thinking.
My hubby said after we got married that he thought he never wanted kids, but for some strange reason he really wants one now.
Maybe it is just a phase he is going through, and will pop out of it.
Best of Luck to you...and keep us posted.

Let me just say that weddings are stressful, they are a HUGE commitment, very expensive, I panicked because of the stress. It is unfortunately common and look at this as taking the time to be absloutley positive that you are right for each other. He may have postponed for financial reasons, or maybe just cold feet. if he is having doubts, he will hopefully share that with you so that you know excatly where you stand. I know its disappointing, but use the time to think clearly and get thinsg straight, no matter what it is.Hang in there...
Dont leave us, we are all here for you!!!!

Re: Disturbing news

Thanks for the support everyone, I really think it's a good idea to wait too. I just worry that he won't want to have kids if we wait more than a year or so to get married. I am a few years younger than he, so I could wait.
AND Truly, he is the ONLY guy I ever dated that I EVER saw myself having a family with .
Just call me Ms. BLUE

I am 35 and it has taken me all this time to finally commit. Cold feet is so common and usually passes. My thoughts are with you, and I hope nothing but happiness follows this upsetting time.

Re: Disturbing news

Thanks me too,
I just don't want to be willing to wait and then he might say in a year or so 'o.k. but now I'm too old to have kids...' I just feel very crummy these last two days; ya know? One minute you think it's all figured out and then WHAM...
