So I just found out that my cousin [who is also a bridesmaid] is getting a divorce. She has only been married 5 years and has two boys. My grandmother told my mother but apparently we are not supposed to know. I am not sure if I should call her and see if she tells me.
I feel so bad cause here I am all happy and excited trying to plan my wedding while my cousin is planning her divorce. How should I handle this situation without anyone getting hurt?

This is so sad! I'm so sorry to hear that! When she's ready to tell you, I think she will. But before then, I don't think you should act differently. Then she may wonder why you're acting 'strange' about things. JMO.

Good point! I was just going to call her to let her know that her sons are invited to the engagement party. So I think if I call for a specific reason it might not seem odd and I hopefully she will tell me, and if not that's ok too.

honestly if I were you, I wouldn't bring it up....she'll tell you when she's ready for you ton know....and since she's in your wedding, she might feel self-conscious about it...you don't want her to be uncomfortable....just try to be sensitive about what you talk about around her (wedding and relationship wise) and wait until she's ready to tell you

I understand what you are going through. The secret is to NOT TAKE SIDES> No matter who is wrong and who is right, its in the best interest for the children for everyone to stay neutral you know?

Of course not! I just want her to know that when she is ready to tell me I am ready to listen. I feel so bad for her.
In the mean time I am not going to try not and talk about the wedding to much with her.
I feel horrible!
Thanks for the advice girls! It pretty much confirmed how I was going to handle this situation.

Re: Divorce ...
Sorry to hear- I am saddened when I hear someone is getting a divorce. Especially after such a short marriage.
I think you should wait until she tells you and act completely normal. Good luck!
