Divorced IL's - Need advice on processional

FH parents had a BITTER divorce and since then have not seen each other. As luck would have it, their first encounter will be our wedding. To make matters even more uncomfortable, this will be the first time FFIL see's his ex-wife's new husband.
FMIL spoke with FH last week and expressed her desire that the new husband be included in 'the wedding'. FH didnt know what she meant by that, but I can only assume she means pictures and introductions. I was telling my mom about this and she said she understands the new husband should be in the pics, but that he shouldnt be part of the processional. So I asked her how does she expect me to tell my FMIL that she cant walk down the aisle with her own husband?! She said it was simple, that she (my mom) was taking herself out of the processional, she didnt want to walk down the aisle. She said hopefully FMIL will feel uncomfortable with this and will also decide not to walk down the aisle. I told her I was pretty sure FMIL wouldnt care and would still walk down the aisle. So my mother said, since its my decision (ya right) I should decide to only have the bridal party walk in. FH doesnt think that's right, and that his mom should walk down the aisle, just not with her husband. What do you think I should do AND who are you including in your processional? Thanks guys!!

Hmm, well, fh's family had a similar situation...

FMIL's brother and sister got married to a man and a woman, who eventually had an affair and got married (so all of their children are essentially 1st cousins and step-siblings).

All walked in the processional - The mother and the uncle/step-father, as well as the father (FH's uncle) and his new wife.

They just made sure that everyone was kept at a distance.

My parents are divorced, but I will prolly introduce them at the same time. Walking down the aisle, I'm not sure yet.

I just wanted to say....my wedding is the first time my mother will meet my fathers new wife :( It gives me stomach pains to think about it, so I am in a similar dilemma...have no clue yet about introductions, what I put on invites etc...its such an awkward situation..good luck with it!!

Is anyone having a processional that is only the bridal party? Is this normal?

My FH parents are divorced and its a very messy situation so...we're having FMIL & groomsman walk in, followerd by MOB w/my brother (a groomsman), BMs, Flower girls & then me. As much as I know FMIL new husband wants to be involved I wasn't goint to let FFIL take a back set at HIS son's wedding.

My parents were divorced more than 10 yrs ago and my Dad is now married to the woman who had a lot to do with the end of their marriage. She is not walking down at all(new wife) I will walk down with my Mom and Dad on either side of me. First it was just going to be my Dad but my Mom really wanted to do it so I said ok. Seriously, it is like 2 seconds out of the day and the grooms parents are usually the 1st to walk in right?

I had a kind of similar situation. My parents are divorced. My mom is dating someone for 5 years now.

I let my mom walk down the aisle with her boyfriend. Why should she have to walk alone? this is who makes her happy now
( My brother walked her was out of the question he was already walking down a bridesmaid and me!)

My father and I do not have a good realtionship. He did attend the wedding with his girlfriend but did not walk down the aisle. If my father and I had a better relationship I would have been more then happy with him walking down the aisle with her.

I usually make a big deal of everything but I dont see this one as being that big of a deal.
