Divorced Parents- Walking down the aisle

Divorced Parents- Walking down the aisle

I need some suggestions.....
My parents are divorced, both remarried, and don't get along with eachother. We're having a Jewish wedding, where typically the bride is escorted to the groom by her mom and dad. My dad wants to walk me down, and my mom wants her and my stepdad to walk me down. My mom and stepdad and my FH parents are paying for the wedding. Any suggestions of how to incorporate everyone into the ceremony and walking down the aisle.

my fh is in the same boat! he is going to walk down the aisle with his mom and step-dad first and then walk down the aisle again with his father and step mom. we are getting married at the hall so this is feasible and both sets of parents are fine with this. it is also a jewish wedding. good luck!

I had the same issue. My Dad and his wife contributed a little, but it was mostly funded by my mom and her husband and my husbands parents. I had my stepfather walk down with my grandma and my stepmother walk in with my uncle ( self proclaimed god-father, as for he is not jewish) and then my parents walked me down. Although they didnt LOVE that idea. I had them do it, they lived with it. But into the reception room they entered with their spouses.

Interesting topic. FI and I were talking about this since one hall that has no rehearsal said the parents walk the bride down the aisle. Problem is my parents have been divorced since 1987 and my dad hates my mom.

I'm thinking of having just dad walk me in and having an usher walk in with mom - even if we go with a hall that typically has both parents walk in with brides. There is no way my dad would agree to share the spotlight with mom.

my mom is walking down first with her husband and then coming back to walk down with me and my dad. same thing with his dad and stepmom.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm sure the temple that I'm getting married at has dealt with divorced families before, I just know that my mom will want it to be the way that makes her feel comfortable. Obviously, I want to be the center of attention and I think that all this confusing aisle stuff is going to look really awkward and not flow right.
