I'm pretty set on doing a DIY cardbox. Does Micheals have hat boxes? Who else is doing their cardboxes themself? I have a feeling this is going to be a veeeeeeeeeerrrrrrry interesting project

Re: DIY!
Im actually going to walmart today so i'm going to see what type of fabric they have and craft stuff. I may get lucky and find everything there that i need.

i am! if anyone sees boxes in this shape please let me know! i want to copy this cardbox but in champagne satin and peonies on top!
I think this is something I'm going to enlist the help of my BM's for... two of them are VERY crafty!

Re: DIY!
i got my boxes from Joann, they were unpacking stock and had a pile of all different boxes so i wandered over and started pairing things together. an associate came over to help me, and they let me take whatever boxes I wanted for FREE
Then i bought really pretty fabric there, although they didn't have what i was looking for ribbon-wise. i have pictures in my album, but it's still in progress. (right now it's covered in fabric but the ribbon -- 1.5' blue ribbon to match my others -- just came in this week, and i think i'm going to put on some pale peach roses)
if you're making something simple you can probably buy one of those nicer boxes pretty easily. i didnt need nice boxes because i was covering them

Re: DIY!
I am going to attempt the DIY cardbox. It will be a challenge because I am not the best DIY'er. Tina, I am sorry your cardbox didn't turn out as you thought it would- perhaps we can see a picture? Sometimes we are our worst critic!
