I was thinking of this for my eparty. Anyone ever do this, or used a helium tank? It'll save us money, but I'm kinda scared! Are they dangerous?

I would definitely be there representing with the LOLLIPOP song from Wizard of Oz.
Some of the balloon centerpieces are really nice. I know I saw some at the Bridal showcase at Lombardis but really wasnt thinking about it so I passed it buy.
Definitely much cheaper!

I did regular balloons for my centerpieces, a balloon heart behind our seats and an archway over the DJ booth. It wasn't hard and definitely not dangerous. It saves a lot of money just renting the helium tank and buying the balloons in bulk! I got really cute engagement mylar balloons for the tables if you want a link I'll link you to them. I've also seen giant engagement ring mylar balloons which are really cute also!

A link would be awesome!!! Thank you!!! I called a store and she said a simple 6 balloon centerpeice is $10 a table, but I did want something a bit more. Thats why I wanted to do it myself! Thanks for the info!
I also purchased confetti for all the tables on ebay. I can't remember who I bought it from but this is what it looked like CLICK HERE. Anything else you need let me know!

if you decide to rent the tank yourself, make sure that it is secured to SOMETHING, it is illegal for it to be free standing i found this out after a 6 foot one fell on my right foot and broke it in 12 places!!!!

Re: DIY Balloon Centerpeices
I have, my parents used to own a wedding planning store and (parties too) so I used to always help set up by blowing up the balloons. We did centerpieces, arches.. etc.. its not too hard. For arches they sell these clips that attach the balloon to the ribbon,
