I'm going to make my own unity candle- any ideas how to attach the ribbon-- hot glue, glue dots, ??

DIY brides I need a suggestion - Long Island Weddings
I would think hot glue would hold best on wax, and you should only need a few dots of it. I mean the candle is only lit for a little while so it's not going to even reach the decoration part.
