DIY invitation designs??

DIY invitation designs??

Hello,
I'm going to create my own wedding invitations and wanted to know if anybody has any suggestions on where I can get a good template to work off of. I'm specifically looking for wedding swirls, borders or flower graphics. I was able to copy some jpgs off of websites but the graphics didn't print out that nicely.
Any suggestions would be great!

By the way, I was able to find some cheap pocket invitation holders and cardstock paper from cardsandpapers.com
I plan on adding some pretty ribbon and a monogram on the cover of the pocket to finish the look. So excited!!
Thanks!

I purchased the Brides Damask Kit from Michael's and printed them myself. We also added black flocking powder to the damask design to give it a velvety, 3-D effect.

The kit:

Interesting.

Any other places?

I think she was saving jpgs and then pasting them into MS Word. Since the sizing is different, etc...that makes the photo look bad/pixelated.

I assume....you put glue on the design and then put the 'black flocking powder' on it?

Did you use like a glue pen or something?

Maybe we can do that even with the pixelized swirls.
Because it will be covered with the black flocking powder so the person getting the invite can't tell its pixelated.

I love that he's so involved! Awesome!

Yupp, glue pen is an excellent idea, we used a small paint brush to apply the glue then the flocking powder. Once it was dry, we touched up the designs with a toothpick just to make sure the lines were crisp and clean. It would definitely cover any pixelation though. It was a little tedious to do, but we had 5 people working on them and they all got done. And they looked amazing in person if I do say so myself. The flocking powder was Martha Stewart brand from Michael's.
