DIY Invitation Help

Please help.... I want to make my own pocket fold invitations, but I have NO idea where to start. I've seen some beautiful Invites on this site and I am hoping that some of you can help with some step my step explanations. Web sites and personal instructions would be most helpful. Thanks in advance and happy new year!!

Re: DIY Invitation Help

I perused literally 100's of pages, just to look at samples. Check out customer galleries and samples.

cardsandpockets.com has good ones.
paperpresentation.com does, too

just do a google search for DIY pocketfolds

I am still working on the design, but my BM and I are going to print and assemble them next month. I bought one of those wedding invitation kits marked down to $13.50 at Staples for 50 of everything. We are just trimming that down with a paper cutter and using double-sided tape to assemble them.

Thanks for your post. I was thinking about ordering one of those kits that show you how to print with monogram backgrounds. I have some samples coming as well so I'll just try one out with the samples and go from there.

Thanks again

Re: DIY Invitation Help

I just started ordering some sample supplies. I did ALOT of research and these are the best prices I found yet...

Paper for pocketfolds ( I am cutting and folding my own cause it's cheaper) PaperMojo

Ribbon for belly bands papermart

Bought 3 Gartner Studios Wedding Collection invitation kits. Includes: 50 panel invites, 50 RSVP cards & envelopes, 150 all purpose cards in each kit. All paper is white and blank. Bought them at Staples on clearance for $13.99 each! Check out eBay...there are a lot of kits really cheap. Easier than cutting yourself and cheaper than having the paper cut. I checked.

Envelopes lcipaper

And I am following this word for word! Directions

I made my monograms in Word or PowerPoint. Word looks just as good. If you need any help please ask....don't know if I can help but I'll try!

So are you able to feed the already cut pieces into your printer? How do you change the formatting for such specific dimensions?

Thanks everyone for your posts! I'll be looking for your help when I finally get the shipment!

I don't have publisher but I've made my monogram with powerpoint and saved it as a jpeg so I can open it in word.

LOL For the inserts, I figured I would do a lot of test runs on regular printer paper. Hopefully that will work out.
