DIY Invitation Kits

Brides who made their own invitations, where did you get your kits from? I looked at Target and Michaels but neither stores has my colors. I am looking for something preferably in purple.

Did not use a kit made them from scratch.

ACMoore also has some great selection.... definitely check out Michaels again they carry a special line of invitation kits made by BRIDES the magazine. They haven't made them in purple yet but they come out with new ones every few months- different colors for every season, so keep checking the website and they might come out in your color when spring comes around

I don't know about a 'kit' in purple & I'm a DIYer...you might have to do a 'from scratch' DIY invite. I'll keep an eye out though....

Did you look at cardsandpockets.com? I ordered some color samples from them and they came really fast. When I got them, I did not like the canvas texture of the invitation that my color (wine) came in so I emailed and they responded right away with suggestions.

I bought plain white kits then ordered the other stuff from Anchor paper (for the pocketfolds) and LCI paper.

Re: DIY Invitation Kits

AC Moore has a lot! I saw a lot of really really pretty kits there & is where I've gotten the kits to do invitations for a bridal shower & our engagement party.

If you're looking for something really specific, Martha Stewart has a lot of invitation kit selections in AC Moore, Target, and Walmart. Of course because her name's on it, it's a litlte more expensive, but they might be more towards what you're looking for.

If you do go to AC Moore, there's coupons weekly in the paper for like 40 or 50% off any one item/entire sale!

I LOVE White Aisle's invitations (online-only ordering):

They have DIY invitation kits -- but honestly their prices for printing for you are so fair that I think it's worth it to outsource in this instance - it's just so much easier. There would not be much savings with DIY and it would take a lot of time and ink.

I haven't looked into actual stores because I am an online shopping kind of girl... seems like a lot of trouble.
