DIY Invitations

Hi Everyone!

Anyone attempting to make their own wedding invitations? I'd hate to spend money on something that's only going to end up in the garbage.

Thanks!! :)

Make sure to map out the costs. It worked out to be the same if we made them or if we ordered them online. We wanted something simple, we ordered from Minted - they even addressed the labels for us.

I plan to design my own invitations and probably having Cards & Pockets print them for me (I don't have a working printer at home to print them myself). I know there are a few ladies that have or will be doing DIY. I don't remember who though!

I plan to semi-diy invites.. I found a design I love on etsy so I plan to pay for the PDF files, have cards and pockets print them, then assemble it all myself.

We did our own invitations. Created our design with adobe photoshop, ordered from cards and pockets and printed from home. Met someone via this site and had her print addresses
for envelopes and RSVP's using digital calligraphy. She was amazing and so nice to work with. Photos in album. Good luck!

DIY Invitations

I downloaded my template from The Budget Savvy Bride (http://thebudgetsavvybride.com/free-delicate-floral-wedding-invitation-suite/). I went to Paper Presentation in NYC on 18th and 6th to buy high quality linen paper, envelopes, and ribbon. I bought reply envelopes and nice mailing labels from Staples. I printed them myself so I didn't calculate cost for ink. Before stamps, everything came to about $175, and that's with splurging on beautiful ribbon. For me it was worth it. I was able to customize the wording on the invitations and the fonts which I really liked, and I feel like the quality is higher than some of the cheaper samples I got from Wedding Paper Divas and Minted.
