Not sure if I should consider doing it. Any advice? Ideas?

Thanks!

We did DIY invites and believe me it was very time consuming. after all was said and done we only saved about $40 or $50. For all the hassle I def would have just gotten pre-printed ones. But our invites weren't the type you'd buy in an invitation set. We bought notecards in Disney and then bought vellum to print the invite wording on, then ribbon to attach the vellum to the invites. When that didn't keep it tight enough tried tape, glue dots, photo corners and finally vellum tape to attach the vellum to the notecards.

Other people might have had an easier time, but for us it was a lot of work.

I did my own because I had a small wedding. Honestly I save a lot of $$$$$ but I did spend some time on them.

I used the template that came with the kit. Then there is the time to put them together. But you have to also if you have them printed by someone else.

I think I spent the most time on..... getting the motivation to do them!!!!!

YES it was worth all the time put in!
And YES, we saved a lot of money!!

The invites we wanted would have cost us over $1,200 if we ordered them online. We did them ourselves and it cost much less than half!

That will be me!!! I usually spend a lot of time trying to get the motivation to do something only to realize once I've done it that I spent way too much time thinking about it instead of just doing it.

....Wait....doesn't that have a name??/ Isn't it called procrastination???

In the grand scheme of things, your invites are a very very small percentage of your wedding costs. I would say, save the time and get them done...They would be VERY time consuming. I made our wedding menus and direction cards. Those things were SOOOOO time consuming - invites would be even worse. Save yourself the energy and buy them...You can try to look for other ways to save money on your wedding that will have a more substantial impact on the overall cost....Just my 2 cents.

Well.. I am the QUEEN of proscratination. LOL LOL

In the end, I am still glad I spent the time doing my own invites. I save lots of money and even DH thought it was a better idea.

our diy invites would have been about 1300 and we spent about 625 tomake them. To us, definitely worth it. Especially because everyone loved them and thought it was so nice that we made them.

we were going to, but we found beautiful invites at wrap with us for about the same price as it would have cost us. and we used inkspun for the envelopes. imo, diy envelopes often cost more in the long run and i am not a diy bride.
