DIY Menus

Hey girls!

Does anyone have a DIY Menu Template? How did you do it? Do you just buy paper in a certain size and then print on your computers?

Thanks for any feedback!

Re: DIY Menus

I'm actually working on mine now. I am using Microsoft Publisher. I have the page set to a certain size, but as far as paper, I am just going to go to Michaels and buy the individual sheets of paper and cut them to size.

Awesome! Are you using a design from Publisher? They have so many! So you're printing with a regular printer?

I just made mine in word. I made a long text box that was the length of a page but only half the width (a regular 8.5x11 page layout in word), typed my menu up, got it exactly how I wanted it, and then copied the box and pasted it onto the other side so that I would print two menus per page. I printed on cardstock and then cut each page in half. I also mounted each menu on another piece of darker cardstock. The pic is in my album ..

No I'm just doing my own text boxes. I put a big S in the background for our last name. I am printing it on the laser printer at work.

Re: DIY Menus

do u have the new publisher or the old one?

im using the new publisher...and doing the brochure template 8.5x11 (im printing 3 per page landscape so they are skinny but tall).

im not mounting them on anything...just printing on 80 or 120lb stock paper.

use a nice font and itll be pretty.

u can import images or make monograms using the text boxes too. its not hard.

We kept ours very simple. We bought a box of ivory linen paper from staples and used it for our menus and programs. We simply split a page in a word document down the middle and typed in the items. My sil added a claddaugh to the top of it for me, printed them and cut them.

Re: DIY Menus

I think my MOH set up the paper size in adobe illustrator and did it like that- ordered 12x12 card stock and cut it into 4x12 pieces myself. We just fed it through the printer like that on a custom paper setting

I did it in word, i just went to file then page set up and you adjust the margins to the size of the paper, which was half of regular cardstock. I bought 2 types of paper, different colors but both were 8.5x11. After I printed the menu on the paper i just cut it to half the size. Then used permanent double sided scotch tape to mount one on top of the other
