DIY Pew Flowers

DIY Pew Flowers

I went to the flower district in Manhattan yesterday, and went to a silk flower store called 'Lasting Art'. They have great silks, very realistic looking at a great price.

Each of these arrangements comes to approximately $6. And they take less than 10 minutes to make each. I'm making 18 of them.

Yeah I was planning on doing every other pew...but I'm thinking it would look even better doing EVERY pew because the flowers do have some height to them....I don't know...what do you ladies think?

If I did every pew I would need about another 18. Which would cost another $130 or so with all the supplies I would need.

I've put them on pew clips. and pew clip is what is attached to the chair in the pic.

Basically I arranged the flowers then held them together w/ floral tape from AC Moore. Then I cut the stems so that they are all even. Then I tied them to the pew clips that I bought at (B&J Floral Supply in the flower district) with ribbon. They are pretty secure. Basically all of the work is done before we even get to the church to decorate. All that needs to be done is clipping the flowers to the pews and draping the pews with tulle.

Please do and post pics too :). It's really very easy. I would say the hardest part is cutting the stems since they are made of hard plastic and wire. You kind of have to break the wire by bending it with your hands.

I would do every other... They're so big and beautiful - I think every pew would be too much...

If you wanted to decorate every pew maybe alternate high and low pew bows? Use just the callas for the low ones?
