I love the idea of the photo booth but can't really justify the $1000K+ for it. Anyone has an idea of photo booth but without actually renting one?

Get some Polaroid cameras and scrapbooks that peole can throw the pic into with a saying...my friend did that at my shower & i loved it!

polaroid camera with one of those little automatic clickers set up on a tripod.... you can buy bulk film for relatively cheap on amazon... we plan on doing this if we feel that we have enough time to throw together our actual photobook

We went to a wedding a few weeks ago and they too had a big polaroid camera and lots of film in boxes for people to refill if they needed to.
They created this cool book with cut outs in it and all you had to do was slip the photo in the cut out and sign the book. It was so cute! Everyone loved it, a true hit!

P-roids are GREAT! another idea - if you have a digital cam - put it on a tripod and leave it plugged into one of those lil portable photo printers. the ones you don't need a computer for. the GREAT thing about this is that people will be more likely to assume something aside from the 'arms around each other , cheek to cheek , pose. they aren't limited by 'oh lets not waste film. the great part is ... 1. you have the photos digitally, even if they don't print 2. if you don't already have a photo printer - now you do! and they're really not that expensive any longer. you now have a way to print all those photos you'll take of Jr.

These ideas are great! I was wondering if I can setup maybe a 'pseudo photo' booth area with the 2nd photographer...for just the cocktail hour...
I saw some good ideas that people string together colorful sheets and have the photoshoot in the corner somewhere...
I'm a big fan of cruises where there is a photographer taking shots in from a fake scene. I wonder if I can ask my photographer to replicate something like that.

They had this at a wedding I went to. It was a fake brackground and he had a photo printer right there. I'm sure someone can do it. Even try your DJ company, a lot of them are 'entertainment companies' now and offer additional items.
