Ladies who did their own...is it worth the aggrevation? Did it save you a lot of $$? Debating if I should even attempt it.

Re: DIY Pocketfold Invites
I bought a Pocketfold DIY kit from Michaels. It was super easy to put together and came out amazing. We got a lot of compliments on them.

i make invites all the time and it's worth saving money and once you get the hang of it, it's no big deal.

I designed my own printed them via vista and then ordered material through papermore. I don't think it was worth the time...i should of just had them done

Re: DIY Pocketfold Invites
I was thinking about doing them on my own.....then i realized that i would need to start now to get all 300+ done! LOL. I decided to get them done (when the time comes), just because i have so many to invite.

Re: DIY Pocketfold Invites
Any ideas on how to do the design?
We're trying to do our own, but when my fiance downloaded/saved some jpgs of 'swirly designs' and then pasted it into MS Word, it came out very pixelated.

Re: DIY Pocketfold Invites
I'm trying to figure out to do it properly with a design.. because there's the invite, then the reply, directions, and information. I have a pocketfold kit that I got at Partycity on clearance. They are black and white. Now all i need to do is spruce them up with a pretty design, a ribbon, and some other pretty things. If anybody has any template ideas, please feel free to send to me!

Re: DIY Pocketfold Invites
It is totally worth doing them yourself. I made my pocketfold invites and they look amazing. You just have to take your time and be patient. I worked on them for about 1 week and I got all 130 of them made. All I have to do now is print out all the inserts and put everything together. I'm having my bridesmaids put them all together.
FYI...cut your own paper...don't have anyone else do it for you because if they don't cut it right and mess up your expensive paper...your going to have to buy more and thats defeating the purpose of doing them yourself. I cut all the paper by myself and just going to have the girls help put them together.

What did you cut the paper with? Did you use a good old fashion scissor, or buy a paper cutter?

Re: DIY Pocketfold Invites
The michaels ones are . they aren't really that worth it though. i tried to compare doing it my self and having them done and there really wasn't much difference.
