DIY pocketfold question about ribbon on pocketfold????

How did everyone secure their ribbon on a pocketfold invite??
I dont want it to be a bellyband but I just want them to be able to open it without using the ribbon. So basically its just for design/decoration (I dont know if im making sense..lol)

Do I have to make slots to pull the ribbon through? I dont want to mess it up!!!

double sided tape or the foam mounting squares.

I used double sided runner adhesive. Pics in my album.
