DIY projects you would NOT do again???

DIY projects you would NOT do again???

i know a lot of people on here create their own items (invitations, place cards, menus, card boxes, etc).

is there any item that - now that you've done it - you think it was just too much work and/or turned out to cost just as much as it would have had you store bought it? if you had to do it again, you would have just bought the item to begin with?

as for me, i love how my invitations are turning out, but between the expense and my time, i just don't know if it was worth it. needless to say, i think i'll think twice before i decide to 'DIY' the next project!

definitely my invites too.....I LOVE the way they turned out, but for the amount of time that it took, I would rather have just paid someone else to make them

i agree with invitations ... but mine were pretty simple .. i would've done something a little more fancy.

i've heard that making cardboxes is not worth the money ... someone i know spent $150 to DIY it and she wasn't even done yet!

i purchased all the pieces needed to do DIY invites...and i created one and realized it was not worth it! The time and energy it took to get one of them to print perfectly seems like a hassle! I ended up getting my flat layered invites for a total of $500 with all addressing included. Def worth it IMO to not deal with the printer, ink, etc

but your wedding isn't until november; you have plenty of time. that's what i was lacking. if you start now and schedule time to work on them, you should be fine. they're great 'rainy day' projects! :)

i DIY'd my wedding programs, but those didn't take me any time at all.
I bought my Wedding Box(cake box) Its called theperfectcardbox.com. Its was a bit pricey but I would never have tackled making one myself, and If i hadn't bought this, i would have gone to Michael's and bought the chest they sell there.
I bought my invitations but I added swarovski crystals to them, and although that was a total PITA, it was so worth it!

we assembled our invites, and it was fine. yes, it took longer than we would have liked. but it was fine

the one DIY that was torture was our place cards. i really wanted to incorporate the jordan almonds into our wedding in a unique way. so i made jordan almond flowers. i like how they looked in the end, and the 'jordan almond flower kit' was one of my first wedding purchases, so i was really excited about it....but O M G.....it took FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. i dont even remember how long....but at LEAST 4 - 5nights at 3-4 hours at a time. i actually think it was more than this. and i had DH and his mom helping!!!

totally ridiculous!!!
