DIY Table Runners

I was just doing some research and came across another forum where a bride said she used wall paper as a table runner. Has anyone ever done this or seen this???

I would be leary of using wallpaper, what happens if it would get wet. Always a possibility.

yeah, that's the tough part. there are some wallpapers - the more expensive kinds usually - that would be thick enough to take some spills and be okay, but then if you find the pattern you want and it's not thick enough, then idk if the project is worth it

Thanks ladies. I did more research and wallpaper is a no go! I found some sites that offer pretty cheap runners or, I found on another forum, chair sashes for runners. They cost between $.99 and $1.99.
