OK - so Im reading all of the wonderful ways everyone has budgeted and gotten deals.. Im going to have to seriously take the DIY route for most of the rest....can we compile a list of DIY projects? You all prompted me to go over what ive booked and will be spending..and my mom had to pick me up off the floor!!!

Just be very careful bc i had read before I did any DIY projects how it can actually end up costing more, and yes infact it does. It happened to me. I realized after how it cost me more with some things to do it myself rather than if i would've had it done.

well i already did them for my e-party...I did the menu's and it cost me more to do them myself rather than if i would've had them made for me.
Also table runners cost me more...I bought the fabric and let me tell you fabric is not cheap...It didnt save me money at all.
the other stuff were ok, such as candles, but then again the ribbon cost so much which surprised me...I needed ribbon for all my favor boxes which i put cupcakes in, ribbon for the wine favors too, i seriously spent over $100 in ribbon, also ribbon to wrap around the candles.

I think its so hard to set a budget and stick to it. I think were going over 30K

it depends just see which would be the cheaper option.
For example the menu's...I used brown and pink card stock for each one...At first when i saw 50 pk for $15 i didnt think much about it, but i needed 3 of the 50 packs for pink, bought 3 if the brown too but didnt like the first brown so had to exchange it but had to keep one pack since it was opened. Then i bought metallic chocolate brown but didnt realize at first that it was just 25 in a pack but the same price since it was metallic...had to go back to the store bc i needed more paper so ended up buying 6 packs of the brown. Then had to buy a paper cutter and tacky adhesive which was horrible and couldnt use it bubbles up the paper...Use permanent double sided tape inside but had to buy about 10-12 rolls of it. After everything it cost over $200 to make the menu's

thats nutz!!..i bought 50pk of card stock for my STD for only 3.99

my friend went to office max and bought a pack of 100 sheets of paper with a pretty fall design on it and a pack of envelopes to make her save the date cards. She only spent $22!!! she was so excited she was about to spend like $150

Yeah you can get cardstock for cheaper...I went to michaels and they had menu's, it was a white cardstock and said menu on top...First it was too small and all the food wouldn't even fit on the paper, i would have had to make it extremely small, plus i was going for the pink and brown theme and the menu's were a big part of it...So i didnt even end up using them...I went to staples, michaels again and even kinkos...They had alot of nice paper, but not exactly what i was looking for. It was hard to find a nice chocolate brown, all of them just looked like such a dull brown, didnt like the color at all.
