Ladies,
I need to book my DJ. I've pretty much settled on Spin Around Sound and would like to just sign the contract. This will be my first vendor besides the hall and I'm nervous. Help!

Mary,

I would also recommend checking out Eddie Terryn with Parameters. We looked at Spin Around Sound too, but just seemed to click better with Eddie. He has some awesome ideas about opening and closing the reception, plus we loved some of his other ideas as well. Such as for our desert, he suggested playing Ice Cream Man, which will fit perfectly since we're having a sundae bar.

P.S.

He doesn't have set price packages. He works with you based on what your needs are.

Try Mikey Mike Entertainment located in Bellemore. We are having Mike as our MC and he is great. He will get everybody up without a doubt.

I definitely agree with you though about taking in a dress. The only thing I worry about, is how much extra room to give them. I certainly don't want to overcompensate either.

It does seem a little fishy!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know of or can recommend a calligrapher to do the invitations? All suggestions welcome! Thanks, Lee

Good luck.

I hope my enthusiasm and excitement for having booked with Parameters and encouraging other brides to check into them as well has not misled anyone here.

We signed with Eddie in the fall and I have often mentioned his name to those looking for djs on this site, just as I have with anyone looking for a place on the water, or a photographer, or a videographer, or a florist.

Missy,

This board is not just simply for passing names along. Forgive some people if they are excited about their planning process and the vendors they have booked. Some of us are just really enthusiastic about what we're going through and are looking for people to share that excitement with. And who better to share with then fellow wedding-planners? (I don't want to exclude the men by saying brides-to-be).

Dan,

I have been around this site since I began planning my wedding in Sept. or so. When it came time to book vendors for the wedding, we met with a few djs, which included Spin Around Sound and Parameters. We choose Parameters because we liked his sense of what will pack a dance floor and what might empty it. I have been very excited about our decision to book Eddie with Parameters and have been a strong supporter since signing with him back in the fall.

I don't need to go back and 'rad the other posting' by you. You obviously have some problem with people who feel passionately about things, whether it be good or bad.

And if I need to explain what I wrote about forgiving people, you are the one who is clueless. Let me explain...nice and slow...

You're welcome Mary Anne, and thank you too. Sorry to hear about your car, but I'm glad someone else can understand why I'm so thrilled about having booked Eddie for our wedding.

When is yours and where? (If you don't mind my asking). What are your other vendors?

Limos

You might also want to look into Royalty Limo if you're still looking for limos. They have tons of cars and have received rave reviews from people we know who used them, and from people on this board.

I have found that by the time you add all the gratuity and tax along with the quote, they are right in line with some other places we checked out. Let me know if you need more info!
