DJ

How soon should the DJ be booked? We're looking at halls this summer and we are open to dates from May '06 through October '06 depending on the halls availability. I was thinking of getting the photographer done first after the hall, but I think I already know who I'm using for that b/c it's a business acquaintence who does great work. Also, I have to ask her about a video, but just in case - are there places that do the video for reasonable prices, but that are not going to be doing the photography? Seems like a lot do both, but I'm not sure how to proceed with that.

I'm calling a bunch of halls the week after next since I'm going to be going from 9am to 9pm straight just about every day next week and the beginning of the following week. I'm going to start the 'hall elimination' list which will be those beyond my minimum and price range. How cool!

I say book the DJ right after the hall. They tend to book up fast.

I just booked the DJ this week and he was very booked for 06 dates already. You can do photography 1st cause they also go fast but it's important to keep yourself moving either way cause you don't want to lose out.

And I love the hall elmination list, I had one too!! I even gave them grades!! It's great being organized! A potential vendor even called me 'spreadsheet bride'.

I booked the hall, then photographer, then DJ. You have plenty of time if you are looking for an October wedding.
