So besides the RH, i made my 1st appt with a vendor. Going to meet with Body Rock next week. What questions should ask? I am going to make other appointments too. Figured i would start with them. I heard you don't meet the DJ until the day of your wedding (Body Rock), Is this the case with most DJs?? . Please let me know of any good/bad experiences. If you rather send me FM go right ahead. I am kind doing this alone. My FH works nights and i work days. They only have week nights available. Luckily my mom/s have been helping too!! I have a great relationship with my FMIL
Thanks!!

Re: DJ
I booked with Spin Around Sound. The owner Tom was such a great guy. He's my DJ.

Re: DJ
it's tough planning a wedding yourself. good luck with that. but at least you'll get some good and hopefully helpful advice on this site.
as for body rock, haven't met with them. went to two dj appointments and ended up booking the first one we met. they kinda do a mini showcase for you, which is kinda helpful. there really aren't too many questions to ask. just the basics like cost of package and how you can customize to your needs like including ceremony or cocktail music. some dj's can get other services for you like a string quartet, or dancers and such. the dj who did the showcase for us was the one available for our wedding day, so that was good. some basic questions include: what their back up plan is in case dj calls out sick or equipment failure; type of equipment they use; do they use cd's or do they feed music from laptop; how early do they show up to set up.
that's all i can think of right now. hope that was helpful. good luck with your wedding planning!

Re: DJ
im using body rock. my sister used them 3 years ago. i think theyre great! it is true you dont book your MC or DJ. you can request one, but they dont guarantee it. but theyre all really good, so im ok with it. they match you up with an MC they think will fit the personality of your wedding.

I am trying to book all the vendors early so i can relax & enjoy being engaged! i don't want to turn into a bridezilla!!

Re: DJ
i wound up booking w/ the first dj that we saw starlight express. we were very impressed with them. they invited us to a showcase they were at and we were able to see all of the mc's. when we went for our appt. they also wanted us to watch videos to see what mc we liked. but we already knew who we wanted and booked him.
